We are booked on the Carnival Fantasy for 2 back to back 5 day cruises, Dec 28, 2009 and Jan 02, 2010. This port is a first for us.

i have sailed out of mobile and let me say that in my opinion it was great. never really been far from pa but got my grandson and myself on a plane and headed south. we landed in new orleans and drove to mobile. up here in the north you try something like that and you get good and lost!!! not only did we not get lost but we even went sightseeing intentionally before and after the cruise. the roads down there are fabulous. while in mobile the night before the cruise he and i decided to head down to the terminal and see what it looked like. no matter how many different ways i got off the highway (thinking i was lost) the roads always turned us around and put us back where we belonged. we never did see the terminal that night but...in the day light it turned out that every time i got off the road (the previous night) i was in front of the terminal. well, this was our first cruise...so give me a break. that big white warehouse building that i thought was blocking our sight off from the terminal WAS the terminal. we could see our ship out in the bay (?) and a ship pulled in for repairs a little ways off but that night we never saw that dang terminal..needless to say we found that big white warehouse looking building WAS the terminal (what a difference night and day make). it was so easy i can't find the words. processing us through and on to the ship was a piece of cake as they say. and, getting back off was even easier. we were either very lucky or the GOOD LORD knew i was out there with my grand-baby and graced me with LOTS of help. cause SOMEONE was guiding that car and i know it wasn't me. i've never had anything go so smoothly!!..that's probably why i missed my alaskan cruise in august... ( i fell and broke my elbows and chipped my right knee cap)...i used up all my luck or the GOOD LORD was still tired from helping me out the last time.
