It pays to watch prices

The Alaska cruise that we booked last week (and paid for) was advertised on another website today at $100/person cheaper than what we paid for. And, I thought we got a really good deal the first time. So I called Carnival. Because we did not participate in the Early Saver, we were not entitled to ship board credit. I explained to her that we booked this last week and paid for it then. She then offered us a cabin upgrade. We went from deck 6 to deck 8, still aft balcony.

I asked her what happens when the price drops again. She said, "well I guess we'll have to give you either a better cabin or an extended balcony." Of course, I'll still ask if we can get ship board credit. Never hurts to ask.
