COMPLETE REVIEW

Enchantment of the Seas - April 5-9, 2007

I was very excited about this cruise since it was our first one out of Fort Lauderdale and our second cruise with RC. It took us about 20 minutes to drive to the port. Wayne dropped us off at the terminal with the luggage and drove to the parking garage. He said it was pretty full, considering it was only 11:30 but did manage to find a spot. We checked in and we were on the ship very quickly, no line at all.

Of course, we went right up to the Windjammer . The Windjammer is a gorgeous room , in the round, with floor to ceiling windows. The buffet was set up in a circle with different stations, a carving station, grill, deli, desserts and on and on. There was a separate area for the salad bar and drinks so that there was never a line for anything. The service here was amazing. Even though you got your own food, the staff was amazing, offering to get the drinks , extra desserts , etc. The food was so appetizing and there was so many choices . We loved this room with the view so much that we and our friends that we were with, ate all our meals here. The staff was extremely friendly and did an excellent job of clearing the dishes.

I absolutely loved the pool deck. It was so very different than any other cruise ship that we have been on. On this ship, you could wade in the pool, just getting a bit wet. There were benches all around the pool areas where you could just sit. The pools were divided into separate areas, one with fountains for the kids. Another area had steps and you could get into shallow water if you wanted. On the last day ,in addition to the Windjammer, there was a barbecue at the pool with ribs, chicken , pasta , etc. The ribs were excellent.

The weather was perfect. It was cool and a little windy but sunny so it was great for shopping in the ports and for the pool. The night of the deck party, though, was too windy for us, although many did not mind and the deck was very busy.

The public areas were immaculate. In fact, I was impressed that the bathrooms had a button on the outside and inside to press when entering or exiting, so that you didn't have to touch the handle. There were hand sanitizers at the entrance to the Windjammer and staff standing there to make sure that everyone used it.

We had an inside cabin and I was impressed with that too. The way it was arranged was great. I loved the two drawer nighttables . There was so much storage , it was unbelievable. There was even a dresser in the closet . The sides of the mirror opened for more storage.. I loved the curtain that you could close , separating the sleep area from the area with the loveseat and desk. This way, if you were getting dressed and Wayne or DD came in , nobody could see you.

There were just three things that we weren't thrilled about. The shows were a far cry from the Carnival shows that we are used to. They weren't half as glitzy and glamorous. Although the singers were talented, the costumes were nothing special, there were only 8 dancers and barely any props. So, that was a bit disappointing, although the comedian, Tony Darrow, was the best comedian we've seen. Also, we were disappointed that there was no lounge with dancing music . We ended up in the disco but had to put our earplugs in and the crowd there was very young compared to us. Boleros had only Latin music , which was nice but we didn't know how to dance to it..

Another thing that disappointed us was that there was a place to get a late night snack but it was in the Solarium, the indoor pool area so it reeked of chlorine so it was not very appetizing.

All in all, I must say that I loved this ship. I would definitely sail her again, hopefully soon. The positives very much outweighed the very few negatives .If you have any questions for me about this ship, please post them under Cruise Discussion and I'll be glad to answer them.
