FISHING IN COZUMEL, OF ALL THINGS

HI ALL,

My son is interested in getting a half day fishing escapade while we are in Cozumel. The only one offered by the Glory (13 days but who is counting?)

is deep sea fishing with a large group and he would prefer to get his own excursion, privately perhaps, for half a day that is not DEEP Sea. Now, I am not a fisherperson myself so am not understanding much about this but he wants to fish for groupers and such. He told me it's not fly fishing and not deep sea fishing.

Are there any suggestions as to who we can contact to set that up?

Reputable and willing to go with the time of the arrival to port?

I would truly appreciate any website, names, etc. that can be offered.

Also, are there usually chartered boatsmen waiting for hire at he pier?

I'm not a fisherman, but I have seen Charter Boats at the docks in San Miguel, the town on Cozumel. There aren't any at the cruise ship docks...
