Your heart only has so many beats in it, so actually you are shortening your life span by making it beat faster when exercising LOL.

Dan thats OK as my heart runs very slow compared to most. Resting rate is 50 and when I was in the hospital. I was in a deep sleep and it went down to 40. Needless to say I was awoken very quickly by a number of nurses.

I was sleeping so good.

Well my 6 month 5 day Medical leave is over.

Have papers to return to work on Tuesday.

Have an easy transition back to work, Arvids.

After reading your posting, I've decided to go for a walk before it gets dark. I did quite a bit of walking while looking for vantage points to view the Noordam (see my pot on that), so this walk will be a bonus.

Gee, I thought mmy heart rate was low at 54...

alt text

A number of years ago, I was in the ER of a local hospital, suffering from Atrial Fifrillation. I was hooked up to all the usual devices, and was watching the blood pressure/pulse monitor, when the numbers began to drop...54.....48...42...36...31....25.....14...8...0\ whiiiiiiiiiine...

The last thing I heard was a nurse saying, I'm not getting a blood pressure..." and I thought, "Isn't she supposed to say B.P."

They tell me I was 'dead' for 8 minutes....

Dang Jeff,

I sure hope they fixed whatever caused that drop.

The next day they had a cardio doctor and his team come in to evaluate me.

The doctor asked if I was a runner or what type of physical activity do I do to keep in such shape.

Well I work 10 hours on my feet as a manager 5 days a week. Running circles around the young kids and I smoke 3 packs a day.

His jaw dropped.

He could not explain why I had a low rate.

Well now I don't smoke. So I hope it does not go down lower.

You take care Jeff.
