Thanks for the post, Joey. Great info. We've actually used this when we sailed 7 day cruises and I didn't want my neighbor to be bothered taking care of the mail for me.

Great info but I don't trust my mailman.........Not all of them just this one! He's awful but they refuse to move him from our route. He reads our ads and magazines before we get them. I've seen him doing it in the park across from our house..........

My DH and I installed this mailbox last June for a number of reasons. We were going to be in Europe for a month, the post office would only hold our mail for two weeks and we did not want to bother our neighbor with the task of getting our mail every day. We just remove the slot and the mail goes to the bottom of the mailbox. It holds about a week of mail so my neighbor just had to get it once a week. I have heard of incidents when you put a hold on your mail and the mail persons would tell their friends that you are out of town and they would break into your house
