Any East Coast port would be great be us but we would be partial to New York/New Jersey.

Of course we'd prefer Florida but are open to flying if it's not too expensive.

I would guess it really depends on Itinerary and ports of call......

I would also prefer Florida (if possible) but as Joey says - it would totally depend on the itinerary. I think most of us have done San Juan, St. Martin, St. Thomas, Cozumel and Grand Cayman many times, (not they're not great ports of call)..... so to find a cruise that would minimize these ports and showcase the Southern Caribbean ports would be great.

Having been involved with several group cruises where voting is involved my experience has been that Florida will always win out. :biggrin: It did year after year for the Great Group Cruises on rec.cruises.com simply because of the number of East Coast cruisers and the expensive of more exotic departure ports.

Living in Las Vegas geography is not really factor. I simply like cruising out of Florida more than the "Upper East Coast aka New York/Brooklyn/New Jersey.

And, we just had six of the noisest folks we have ever encountered on a cruise in our hallway from "Da Bronx." :sick: So, I guess we really do prefer Florida. :thumbup:

Are there any longer cruises leaving from any Florida port? I only did a quick look but all seem to be 7 days or under. I agree with Jackie that St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Grand Cayman and Cozumel have been done over and over by most of us. Something different would be nice.

What time frame are we looking at and are we looking at a specific line?

i believe we are looking last quarter 09..... and no i don't think we have settled on a line yet.. though i know we ALL have our preferences....

We are okay with leaving from florida. It does have its pros although more expensive for us. We would prefer either RCCL or Celebrity. We really would prefer to stay away from Carnival.

Looks like the Caribbean is going to win this poll. We will just have to try revisiting the med/ greek isles/turkey in 2010. something else to look forward to. :smile:
