Anyone Cruising the Eastern Caribbean Route should when in Paradise Island in The Bahamas, visit Atlantis Casino & Resort. For the price of the excursion they have beautiful soroundings for those photo buffs like Myself. They have a Beautiful Aquarium, Pools gorgeous Greenery. For those who love to gamble it is definitely the place. Snorkeling is available in the main Aquarium tank.

We stop there every time. Take the land taxi not the water taxi. Water taxi works on a very wierd schedule and you will spend more time waiting for the darn thing to fill up. In the long run, the land taxi is worth the extra couple of dollars.

You are so right the land taxi is worth it. If you are looking for a beach we like the BC Hyatt right at port on the other side of Senor Frog. They charge but give you food and drink credit well worth it. (plus towels) The nice thing it is a great way to end the day since you can walk to the ship. Nice beach and not crowded.

We went to Cable Beach for a slot tournament weekend a couple of months ago......NOT nice. Very run down, nothing going on, 1 or 2 restaurants (others are closed),...room was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would NEVER stay there again, and I'm not that picky!! They are re-doing the whole place and in 2014 it's supposed to re-open and compete with Atlantis. Wait until 2014 to go.

Just got back from cruise and went to Atlantis Beach. We paid $103 (discount price instead of $109) each for DH and me. We wanted to spend time in the casino and shop, but didn't as other family members wanted to go on the beach and we followed. Had to pay an additional $40 for an umbrella. It was HOT as he**.. The lunch that came with it was a hamburger, french fries and drink. Sorry we didn't just enjoy the casino and bought our own lunch. We say the dig and if you don't like walking a lot, don't go. We had the umbrella for about 2 1/2 hours and as we were leaving, we told the other couple who just came on the beach to take over the umbrella as we had already paid for it. At least we helped others save a little. I don't think it was worth it, but then again, if I didn't go, I would have been miserable thinking about it.

If you have a larger party, I recommend renting the cheapest room at Atlantis usually 2 nights is the best deal. Anyway, it gives you full access to everything. The price of the cruise excursion limits everything you can do, plus you are on their time frame. When we are there for long ports, we enjoy going to room and resting, while others enjoy the dolphins or lazy pool, etc.
