When the Radiance of the Seas docked in Tampa this mornig there were 150 passengers and 3 staff members sick with the norovirus. Boy that virus sure spreads like wildfire ... now the Radiance has every moment cut out for them, scrubbing, sterilizing and cleaning before the new cruisers get on today!!

Our Celebrity (March 2009) out of San Diego to Hawaii started with a previous outbreak. I don't think we touched anything for the first few days (everything was handed to us by a gloved waiter).

I'm sure because a ship is such close quarters, that is why the virus is so awful.

GOOD QUESTION ABOUT LAST YEAR  DON'T NOW, MAYBE A FELLOW CRUISIER KNOW :rolleyes2:

THE CRUISE LINES CAN'T HIDE THIS PROBLEM ANYMORE, NOT AMYMORE WITH LAP TOPS & CELL PHONES :ninja:

ON OUR CRUISE TO TAHITI IN JAN, THE SHIP WAS SCUBBED DOWN AND GUEST WHERE IN THEIR CABINS WITH VIRUS, IT TOOK 7 DAYS TO CLEAR UP CREW WAS CLEANING AND SRUBBING EVERYTHING EVERYDAY, AND FOOD WAS HANDLE BY THE CREW WEARING GLOVES. THIS ALL TOOK PLACE AT SEA BEFORE WE GOT TO TAHITI

OUR NEXT CRUISE IS NEXT MONTH, THIS WILL NOT STOP US, WE HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THROW AWAY GLOVES FOR THE BUFFET LINE FOR HANDLING OF THE FOOD.:wink2:

Norovirus doesn't stop us. I think it spreads so rapidly on the ship because of the close quarters and all of the common areas that get continually touched. On the San Diego to Hawaii Celebrity cruise, our staff and crew were wearing gloves, handled everything, sealed off areas for scrubbing, etc., etc. Pretty much after a few days, we totally forgot about it.
