Traveler's Checks

Does anyone still use Traveler's Checks?. We haven't used them for years. Credit Cards just seem much easier and just as safe. Am I wrong?

We still use them Howard. We have a little bank account for all our change and when that adds up we get travelers checks with the money (because we don't pay for them) and put them in our cruise folder. Once they start charging for them we will stop.

No travelers checks here, Credit cards are the way to go. :thumbup:

We still use them. We're not charged for them, either. What we don't spend, we put in our safe for the next cruise. While we present our credit card at the beginning of the cruise, we always pay the account bill before we leave the ship.

Jerry loves to gamble. Having traveler's checks helps us keep track of how much money he's spending in the casino. He's very good about limiting himself.

We have them but probably won't get them when they charge for them. We have had the current ones for several years. We really carry them for emergency purposes now. Like running out of casino money. LOL

We use them too, esp. for foreign trips. There is a 3% surcharge on CC's so TC's we find useful tho I agree they are not used nearly as much as B4.

Haven't used traveler's checks in many years. Credit cards and cash for us.

We always use, and I recommend that my client use credit cards. The banks will back you up if you find a discrepancy or fraud, or want to dispute a charge. Once you pay in cash or traveler's checks you don't have any recourse is there is an issue, or you are not satisfied with the service or product. The international service fee on credit cards is minimial....usually less than a dollar per transaction. It is 1% or less. I just checked the actual fees on our May NCL Spirit cruise to verify that.
