What ship and line were your first ?

My first cruise was in 1954 on (Union Castle Lines ..... now Cunard) - the Winchester Castle, from Cape Town, South Africa to Southhampton, England.

Tony's first cruise was on the Tropicale (Carnival) a crappy old ship but the fun time we had onboard was enough to give us the "cruising bug"!

SS France transatlantic in 1971 (student standby fare-- $150 from NY to Southampton). Real French service, from sullen but correct to psychopathic, but we'll never see a ship like her again...

Our first cruise was on the Carnival Conquest. It sailed out of Gulfport because the river was too high for the Conquest to pass under a power line in New Orleans. I believe this was in February or March of 2003. We took my DW parents for a cruise on their 50th anniversary. It was great. We have been on 10 other Carnival cruises including another one on the Conquest.

My first was Carnival out of new orleans and it was okay but it was 8 years ago and ships seem so much more extravagant now!!

I missed this thread previously. Some of you have been cruising for a LONG time!

Our first cruise was in 2000 - a four day Bahamian cruise on the Disney Magic. Four days is just not long enough for a cruise!
