Good review Jim, but you don't say much about the ship. I saw it from the outside when we were parked next to it last year in St Kitts (I think). How was the decor? How were the public spaces? Was the ship easy to get around?

I just realized that indeed I didn't say much about the ship...

The Magic is a nice ship, fairly easy to get around on. It has some nice qualities but basically it is a Conquest class ship on steroids.

We don't gamble so nothing about the casinos.

The theater is not unlike any other except there are high back seats in the nose bleed section, standard seating (modified bench)on the lower section.

We had anytime dining in the Northern lights dining room (forward)..a nice quality here is there is a walk way (forward to aft) outside the dining room on the starboard side. Anytime is done on the upper deck of the dinning room.

We had an interior room...same as any other on Carnival..Don't they all look alike?

The buffet seemed to me to be very crowded most of the time, it's like there are too many people for the space allotted...The burrito bar was good...food in the buffet not unlike any other Carnival ship, no better, no worse . (We ate in the MDR 90% of the time)

Pools were not used too much that I could see due to the temps (on the cool side), Same goes for the Super Slide and Power Drencher...Hot tubs were in demand, the serinity deck was really nice.

The piano bar and Punchliner Comedy club is the same place as on the Conquest...The Red frog Pub was really nice and has an outside seating area (again a little cool) and the OceanPlaza Club was very well laid out going from port to starboard.

Didn't use the spa so nothing to report there...Most of the shops were on deck 5 as was the Conquest.

Kevin I hope this answers some questions you may have had.
