Florida Governor Rick Scott officially toured Port Canaveral’s new Cruise Terminal (CT) 6, days before the official start of operations on August 13, when Carnival Ecstasy sailed on a sold-out voyage for more than 2,600 passengers.

Efficency and Comfort Integrated

Ecstasy is one of three Carnival ships home ported year-round at Port Canaveral. The cruise line was enthusiastic about basing Carnival Dream, Carnival Ecstasy and the Carnival Sensation at the new terminal because of its dual focus on processing efficiency and passenger comfort. "With this new world-class terminal, Carnival Cruise Lines not only will be able to operate more effectively, but more importantly, it also will allow our guests to have a very good embarkation and debarkation point for their cruises," said Carnival Vice President of Commercial Port Operations Carlos Torres de Navarra. In addition to the homeported vessels, Carnival also will utilize CT6 for port-of-call visits, from the Northeast. The sleek building has highly visible ship-linked signage, spacious processing and waiting areas and safety-conscious passenger and baggage flow. A new parking garage, connected by covered walkway to CT6, offers climate-protected, close-to-the-ship parking to guests of CT5 and CT6. In a first for Canaveral, the parking facility also offers retail space.
