When the opportunity to move to Florida came along, the ability to feed our cruise “addiction” was definitely one of the deciding factors – and resulted in lots of short cruises! We sometimes wonder why more avid cruisers don’t move to Florida! :biggrin:

Thanks , DebbieandJerry and Shari. Since I don't fly and am not a fan of long car rides, it's a good thing that we live where we do. I always prefer to cruise from Ft. Lauderdale , which is half the distance that it is for us to cruise from Miami. However, we do often cruise from Miami also. Getting from the parking garage to check in is so much easier in Miami than Ft. Lauderdale. The garage is right across the street but in Ft. Lauderdale, it is a bit of a hike. Wayne always drops me off with the luggage and he goes to park the car . Good deal, right? :tongue: Michael and Amy, we always wonder about that too. We know many up north that say Florida is too hot for them but in the summer, their temps are higher than ours. :blink:

You’re absolutely right regarding misconceptions about the weather (we grew up in Wisconsin and Illinois). But let’s not share that outside of the CruiseCrazies family – we don’t want the traffic getting any worse, do we?! :smile:

:laugh: :laugh:Too funny, Michael and Amy. When my parents moved to Florida , their friends from up north would tell them that they could never live down here. My mom would tell them that it's good that more people don't move here because we wouldn't want Florida to sink into the ocean. People I know in New York have said to me that they could never live here because of the hurricanes. Of course, that was before they got hit last year and that was some heck of a hit, unfortunately. Before the hurricane, we warned them to prepare and they brushed it off as being nothing. I think they will pay more attention to those warnings in the future. Then again, maybe not. :blink:
