Repositioning cruise San Juan

Hi Cruisers

We have never done this type of cruise before or for that matter have cruised out of San Juan. We are looking at the Carnival Splendor on Nov 1. We will be flying into San Juan the day before out of Buffalo NY. Looking for any info on hotels and taxi or shuttles from airport to hotels . A hotel that's reasonable and clean .We are alright at end of cruise for we dock in Miami. And fly out of fort Lauderdale. Thanks for any info. Happy Cruising :rolleyes2:

We loved the Splendor when we were on her a few years back.

We also loved San Juan. Stopped there 3 separate cruises.

My sister and her family stay there almost every Thanksgiving. They tend to use name brand hotels. I think you should be able to find something online that offers transportation at least from the airport to the hotel or hotel to cruiseport.

Hi Challon! We’ve sailed in and out of San Juan many times – and love it – but we haven’t stayed there since 1998 (and I know the hotel we stayed at then has changed hands at least twice since). Sailing Carnival you’ll probably want to stay in Old San Juan, but it’s not really that big of an island and taxi fares from the airport to tourist destinations are strictly regulated. Just get in the taxi line at the airport and you’ll get the official rate. Happy cruising!
