Great review Jan. We had many similar experiences on our recent Med cruise.

If you read my review you could see that I had the same disappointments with the Serenade of the Seas noisy atrium. I also discovered that I had to use the walking track early if I wanted to use it at all, due to the same reasons that you noted. And, as much as we tried to avoid a carpet presentation in Turkey, we somehow got roped into one.

That's really great that you had the opportunity to tour the Sistine Chapel and Colosseum in a small group. Your room near the Pantheon also sounds like a special treat.

Thanks for reading, Kevin. The Brilliance of the Seas had that same type of Atrium- noisy, crowded and action-packed. I really much prefer the Princess Ships with their "Piazza" - much more space and a nice gathering place, in a quieter way. Those Turkish rug presentations probably would be more enticing if they weren't forced upon us. As far as Sistine Chapel goes, the early entry small-group tour is the ONLY way to see it. That was the best decision I made, by far, on this cruise!
