Thanks for all the prayers.

TGI Friday, Crazies! This last week has been unbelievable - I have a feeling this will be the new normal until my last day of work....they want 25 years of knowledge imparted in meetings that are lasting for 3 hours at a time...hence no work is getting done and I am getting agitated!! Thanks for letting me vent  . And then last night we had our big fundraising event for Mutual Ground which was absolutely wonderful but absolutely exhausting, as I know many of you go through as well. Tomorrow we leave for our long weekend in Charleston so have also been trying to get ready for that. Whew!

Mary Lou - I can totally relate to taking 3 days to complete something that used to take 1...and speaking of switching out clothes - that's exactly how it went. It took me two days to do that when it used to only take me 1. But since I needed cooler things for Charleston I figured it was a good time to get it done. Glad Ash's confirmation went well.

Miranda - Glad you are in for Norway and I'm so happy that you will be able to give us expert advice! That is interesting that you prescribe a nap that first day over for jet lag. I think that might work better for me. We were told to try to stay up until a normal bedtime when we few into Barcelona, so our travel agent booked an all-day tour for us. OMG - I thought I was going to fall over on the street. And by the time we went to dinner, I just about did fall over. Thankfully we dined at our hotel, which had a great rooftop lounge and restaurant. The view was gorgeous, and the weather was perfect, and I found out how much I like Cava, the bubbly Spanish wine.......until the third glass. And then it all hit - up for 36 hours and too much Cava! My hubby got me down to the room, I threw my clothes and my purse somewhere in the room and was gone...........

Kevin - I have been wanting to try Shutterfly - it looks like you can go as simple or as elaborate as you want, which is nice for those with limited time and talent, ha!

Jan - I understand when you say you don't make any progress when Hubby is home - that is why I am so glad I will have one year before Ed retires - I might be able to get a few rooms cleaned out! We did that Celebrity Infinity cruise through the Panama Canal - we did it from Ft. Lauderdale to San Diego. It was fabulous with the perfect itinerary as far as alternating sea days with port days. Glad your post-op went well! And glad that there is interest in Norway - when do we get to book?!

Ray - I could also be in for another Panama Canal - either full passage or roundtrip Florida....On our last one we did a wonderful eco-day in Costa Rica! And the Infinity is one of the smaller Celebrity ships...I think it is about 2100? They had a great naturalist onboard who gave talks on the history/flora/fauna, etc. We also did that ship last fall to Alaska. We like to plan out full days in the ports but also like the sea days. And we have dropped a few dollars at the casino, but all in good fun! Glad you are feeling better.

Shari - Yes, that was so sad about Prince. Last week his flight had to stop unexpectedly in Illinois because he felt ill...wonder if it was a "warning" of something developing. Sounds like you had a wonderful anniversary - simple but heartfelt! I wish you would consider coming on the Norway cruise....I think the itinerary sounds very laid back while cruising through the fjords, etc. And Holland is so good with people of all abilities- they really know how to help without seeming to help, if you know what I mean!

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll be back from Charleston late Tuesday and back to work bright and early Wednesday morning. 5 weeks to go........

SATURDAY, APRIL 23RD

Good morning fellow Crazies,

Like you said, things will come together slowly but surely. I found myself a new cleaning lady and she starts next week. That is really a load off. She's about my age, so if she's anything like my former one I am set for another 20 years. My weekend couldn't start any better!

Jan I also found the Doubletree. I think that's a very good one too. I also found 'Mövenpick', also very good, but more expensive and doubtful whether it's worthed. So I'd recommend Doubletree, close to the cruiseport and the center of the city. So good to see you're hubby is 'on board' too. I also like the idea of a spring group cruise in 2018.

Ray's canal boat tour is also a great tour to see about everything you need to see in Amsterdam.

I hope you're all doing fine and will enjoy your weekend.

Miranda

Good evening,

It's been a busy couple of days, and I'm finally checking in. My sister - who I've been somewhat estranged from the past few years - wanted to meet for breakfast this week since she was on school break. We had a couple of falling-outs over the past 10 years or so, and the last time we spoke was at their house last November in an attempt to make peace. Other than a few texts to tell her about my surgery and the birth of her second grand-nephew, we hadn't spoken. So I was happy to hear from her, but a little nervous, thinking so might have bad news from the family. But it was simply a chance to reconnect, a nice morning, catching up with our families without the distractions of our husbands. I hope this will be the beginning of a new page for us.

Later in the afternoon I went to visit the grandkids and took the family to dinner. Papa wasn't feeling great and decided to stay home rather than infect everyone. Alex expected Papa to come with his mom to pick him up at daycare, and I was so sad to see how disappointed he was when Papa wasn't there. Fortunately, he got over it.

Today was a day of shopping with Jenn for stuff for her apartment including a couple of chairs and small table for her deck. While we were sitting out there, her cats were on the other side of the screen crying, not because they wanted to come out on the deck, but because they wanted Jenn to come back in. The deck is off limits to them. I'd hate to see them take a leap from the second floor, no matter how nice it is out there!

Miranda - Thanks for the recommendation on the Doubletree - I think it's a good choice with good reviews, a great location, and good reviews. Movenpick is also popular because of its close proximity to the river boats and, in fact, Viking uses it for their pre and post-cruise hotel.

Rose - I'm glad to hear your mom's procedure went well. I can imagine how stressful it must hav been for your family. Best wishes for her continued improvement.

Shari - I thought of you when I heard about Prince and that he was from Minneapolis. (Since you're the only person I know in the entire state of Minnesota, I think of you whenever anything shows up in the news from your area!) I was sad when the news came on about the Purple One - and so young, too.

Andi - Those last 5 weeks of work will probably be your craziest ever. Just keep thinking about what awaits you at the end, and you'll get through. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend in Charleston!

MaryLou - enjoy your company today!

So, I don't know about everyone here, but I can't wait for the Princess itineraries to come out. I am officially designating Norway Fjords on Koningsdam 7-30-17 as our 2017 group cruise. I'll post it up tomorrow in the group cruise forum with instructions for reserving. Then when Princess comes out with their new schedule, we'll talk 2018!

Have a great night!

Jan

SUNDAY - APRIL 24th

Good morning Crazies. We had a fun filled visit with our friends yesterday and lots of laughs. Now back to the great clothes switch. :-(

Jan - I'm so happy to hear you were able to meet with your sister and possibly mend some fences. I can't imagine not having my brothers in my life. Good thinking to keep the cat indoors if Jenn is on the second floor. I hope David is feeling better.

Miranda - Thanks for all your suggestions for our cruise. I'm still having a real hard time convincing Jim about it though. We will see what happens

Kevin - that A train looks great. Now if I can just get that song out of my head I will be fine. :-)

Time to get my day started

Good morning Crazies. So happy to be back home and in our own bed last night. Mom is doing well. Now I'm ready to get the roof done tomorrow and start to pack for our cruise next Sunday. I can't get out of here fast enough!

Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes for Mom.

Jan not sure about us and the group cruise. Howie and I were discussing it when life got in the way. I will be seeing our Norweigian friend next week so I'm sure he will have much to add. Glad you could reconnect with your sister. My sister and I will never get along. It's sad but she is an unhappy, annoying person. I only text her if I have to.

Happy Passover DebbieandJerry and all who celebrate.

Miranda I second the boat tour in Amsterdam. Well worth the money.

Andi hope you enjoy your long weekend.

Time to get moving and catch up around here. Have a great rest of the weekend all.

Good afternoon,

Went out for a little walk this morning, followed by more shopping with Jenn. She picked up a cube organizer from Lowe's that she'll need to put together herself. Let's see how long it sits in the box on the floor of her apartment.

Our group cruise to Norway is official, and I've put it up on the Roll Call/Group Cruise Forum. Start your reservation engines - CruiseCrazies 2017 Group Cruise to Norway!

Rose and MaryLou - I am hoping and wishing that you get your respective "other halves" to come on board with the Norway cruise.

Time to relax before another Monday arrives.

Have a great night!
