<p>
	The rapid expansion of MSC Cruises will continue through at least 2030.
</p>

<p>
	The Europe-based megaship operator announced on Monday a trio of shipyard deals that will bring it at least six more vessels over the next few years — on top of six already on order.
</p>

<p>
	The deals, with the giant Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, included a firm contract for the construction of a third and fourth ship in the line’s World Class series, to be delivered in 2025 and 2027, respectively.
</p>

<p>
	At 205,700 tons, the World Class vessels will be among the biggest cruise ships ever built and have room for up to 6,761 passengers a piece. The first ship in the series already is under construction at the shipyard and due for delivery in 2022. A second vessel in the series has been on order for delivery in 2024.
</p>

<p>
	The trio of deals announced Monday also included a so-called Memorandum of Understanding between MSC Cruises and Chantiers de l’Atlantique to develop yet another new class of vessels.
</p>

<p>
	MSC Cruises offered few details of the ships in the new series other than to say there would be four of them, and the total cost of the series would come to around $4.4 billion. Such a price tag suggests the ships in the new series will be quite large.
</p>

<p>
	At 205,700 tons, the new World Class ships on order for MSC Cruises will be among the biggest cruise vessels ever built.
</p>

<p>
	The third deal announced Monday was a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a second new class of vessels that MSC Cruises said would be innovative in its design. The line offered almost no details about the project other than to say the line and shipyard would “explore opportunities that wind power and other advanced technologies could bring to passenger shipping.”
</p>

<p>
	MSC Cruises also didn’t say when the ships in the two new series would arrive. But, in a statement accompanying the announcement, MSC Cruises executive chairman Pierfrancesco Vago suggested the vessels would be in service by 2030.
</p>

<p>
	“The three agreements signed today extend our investment plan up to 2030,” Vago said. “They stem from an exceptional partnership, with Chantiers de l’Atlantique, that has already delivered 15 highly-innovative cruise ships over the past two decades and will see many more vessels come to life at Saint-Nazaire’s docks in the next 10 years.”
</p>

<p>
	MSC Cruises currently has 17 ships in its fleet.
</p>

<p>
	The agreements extend what has been one of the fastest-growing expansions of a cruise line in years. As recently as early 2017, MSC Cruises had just 12 ships in operation. At the time, the line promised to triple its capacity within a decade.
</p>

<p>
	While it’s well known to Europeans, MSC Cruises has far less name recognition among Americans than such big U.S.-based lines as Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line. But the line has been moving aggressively to change that.
</p>

<p>
	As part of its expansion, MSC Cruises has been rapidly building its footprint in North America in an effort to woo more Americans. In 2017, MSC Cruises only had a single vessel based in North America. It now has two vessels based year-round in Miami and two more sailing out of the port on a seasonal basis. Later this year, it’ll begin its first sailings from Tampa. It has scheduled voyages from the New York City-area for later this year and in 2021, too.
</p>

<p>
	All of the North America-based ships are marketed heavily to Americans.
</p>

<p>
	Founded in 1989 in Naples, Italy, and now based in Switzerland, MSC Cruises in recent years has been building big, resort-like vessels that compete with the biggest ships from the likes of Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line. It currently operates three of the 10 biggest cruise ships in the world.
</p>

<p>
	With the addition of five major new vessels since early 2017, MSC Cruises is now the world’s fourth-largest cruise line by number of passengers carried, behind only Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. It’s bigger than such well-known U.S.-based brands as Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Holland America Line.
</p>

<p>
	The new World Class vessels that MSC Cruises has in the works will be the biggest vessels ever operated by a Europe-based cruise line, but not quite the biggest ships in the world. Royal Caribbean’s record-breaking Oasis Class vessels, including the recently unveiled Symphony of the Seas, still will be a tad bigger.
</p>

<p>
	MSC Cruises is a division of privately owned MSC Group, one of the world’s biggest shipping companies. In addition to expanding its MSC Cruises brand, the MSC Group is investing an additional $2.2 billion into an as-yet-unnamed new luxury cruise brand. The new brand, which will operate yacht-like vessels, is scheduled to debut in 2023. Four ships for the brand are on order.
</p>

<p>
	The Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard has built some of the world’s most famous cruise ships, including Symphony of the Seas and Cunard’s Queen Mary 2. It’s one of the few shipyards in the world capable of building today’s biggest cruise ships.

<p>
	The MSC mega-ship which was only recently christened in early November 2019 has crashed into the pier in Palermo, Italy. No injuries have been reported including passengers and crew on board the vessel.
</p>

<p>
	As the giant 181,000 gross ton vessel was maneuvering to dock at the Port of Palermo on the island of Sicily in Italy at around 8:30 AM on Monday when she hit the Vittorio Veneto pier. Due to high winds at the time the ship hit the corner of the pier on her stern port side. Footage has been posted online of the accident including the one from Alessio Sutera below:

	</div>
</div>

<p>
	MSC Grandiosa seems to just have some scratches but as the area is located near the waterline there is no doubt further inspections were needed to make sure she was seaworthy. The majority of the damage looks to be the corner of the pier with some huge chunks now missing.
</p>

<p>
	As of writing this, the MSC cruise ship departed the port as scheduled at around 5:00 PM which means there shouldn’t be any delay or impact to the current voyage. The scheduled port of call is in Valetta, Malta on Tuesday with the arrival of around 9:00 AM.
</p>

<p>
	The new cruise ship is currently on a 7-day Meditteranean cruise which departed Civitavecchia, Italy on December 29. She is a Meraviglia Plus class vessel and one of the largest in the world. MSC Grandiosa has a maximum guest capacity of 6,334 along with 1,704 crew members. She was delivered to MSC Cruises on October 31, 2019.

<p>
	This news comes not long after the Carnival Glory collided with Carnival Legend while in Cozumel, Mexico. Both Carnival Cruise LIne operated ships were damaged with Carnival Glory needing some major repairs once back at her homeport.
</p>

<p>
	MSC Cruises has previously had some similar accidents including two MSC ships crashing in the port Port of Buenos Aires in February 2019. Also in 2018, the MSC Armonia crashed into the pier in at the port of Isla Roatan, Honduras, and the pier was badly damaged.

<p>
	Virgin Voyages would like you to meet its newest “Lady.”
</p>

<p>
	On Tuesday, the cruise line announced the name and itinerary of the newest ship in its growing fleet, which is scheduled to debut in 2021. Called “Valiant Lady,” the vessel becomes the company’s second liner after the Scarlet Lady, which is scheduled to begin sailing in April 2020.
</p>

<p>
	“We are thrilled to unveil the name of our second ship — Valiant Lady — and to deliver on our commitment to offer travelers a sea change in how they can experience cruising in this fantastic part of the world,” said Tom McAlpin, Virgin Voyages CEO, in a press release. “Our Sailors will fall in love with the places we go and the moments and memories they will be able to create on our gorgeous ship. After all, there is no better way to sail the seven seas than doing it the Virgin way.”
</p>

<p>
	Valiant Lady will be leaving for seven-night Mediterranean sailings out of its home port in Barcelona, Spain, beginning in May 2021. Guests — or “Sailors,” as Virgin Voyages calls them — will also be offered three different itineraries with stops across Spain, France and Italy, depending on which itinerary a guest chooses. All three offer a night in Ibiza, which Virgin Voyages describes as “one of the most stunning and thrilling Balearic islands.”
</p>

<p>
	Along with news of the ship’s name and itineraries, Virgin Voyages announced that the Valiant Lady, like its sister ship, will embody the “idea that women design, captain, lead and champion change in the maritime industry.” To that effect, the ship is an extension of the cruise line’s “Scarlet Squad” program, which is aimed at recruiting or developing female roles within the cruise industry, which has “statistically [shown] low numbers of female leadership,” Virgin Voyages writes.
</p>

<p>
	Also, like its sister ship, Virgin Voyages’ new Valiant Lady will offer an “adult-by-design experience,” which has been part of Virgin Voyages’ objective since the cruise line’s conception.
</p>

<p>
	Itineraries on the Valiant Lady will be available to book beginning on Dec. 19, 2019.

<p>
	Miami is home to yet another of the world’s largest cruise ships.
</p>

<p>
	MSC Cruises brought the MSC Meraviglia to PortMiami to begin its first-ever season of sailing from Florida. The 171,598-gross-ton, 4,500-passenger vessel is tied with a sister ship as the 7th largest ship in the world.
</p>

<p>
	Already, PortMiami has played host to some of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class of ships, which hold the top 4 spots.
</p>

<p>
	Meraviglia, though, is the largest ship MSC has ever sailed from Florida, and its arrival Sunday means the line will now have four ships sailing out of Miami, joining MSC Seaside, MSC Divina and MSC Armonia - the largest fleet the line has ever based in Florida. The ship arrived to New York in October and makes its first Caribbean sailing from Miami this week.
</p>

<p>
	“Since MSC Meraviglia arrived in the U.S. in October, we’ve seen tremendous excitement and buzz from our travel adviser partners and guests,” said Ken Muskat, executive vice president and chief operating officer at MSC Cruises USA in a press release. “We are thrilled that MSC Meraviglia will now be part of the beautiful Miami skyline.”
</p>

<p>
	Meraviglia, which means “wonder” in Italian, debuted in 2017, and has among unique offerings a 450-person venue for original Cirque du Soleil shows. Other highlights include 12 distinct dining venues, including two options from Michelin-star recipient Spanish Chef Ramón Freixa, French chocolates and pastries from Chef Jean Philippe Maury plus sushi, teppanyaki and steakhouse among others.
</p>

<p>
	The ship also has what the line touts as the longest LED Dome at sea on its two-story Mediterranean-style promenade, plus a water park with four slides, suspension bridge, interactive cinema, bowling and a kids club themed to Legos.
</p>

<p>
	The two Cirque de Soleil shows titled “Viaggio” and “Sonor," created specifically for the cruise ship, are performed in an a more intimate dinner theater venue called the Carousel Lounge. The line also puts on six full-scale productions per seven-night sailing in the much larger main theater.
</p>

<p>
	Like all of MSC Cruises’ newer ships, Meraviglia features a section called the MSC Yacht Club, a ship-within-a-ship concept that gives those who pay more exclusive spaces and even 24-hour butler service.
</p>

<p>
	Meraviglia is the first in its class built at what was STX France, and is now Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. A sister ship, MSC Bellissima, debuted earlier this year, and the two share the seventh spot in the list of world’s largest cruise ships. No. 1 is Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas followed by Harmony of the Seas, Allure and Oasis of the Seas, the German ship AIDAnova and then an MSC ship in the new Meraviglia-Plus class that debuted this month, MSC Grandiosa.
</p>

<p>
	This fall and winter season, the Miami-based MSC ships will call on the cruise line’s new private Bahamas destination Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a 95-acre resort with 11,400 feet of beach and its own pier. The destination will have bars, restaurants and a new lighthouse that the line said will be a focal point of evening entertainment.
</p>

<p>
	Meraviglia will sail from Miami through April 5 on two seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries with stops in Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, Belize, Honduras and the Bahamas.
</p>

<p>
	The line plans to send the ship back to Europe next summer, and in October return to New York and then Miami in November 2020.  “We are grateful to our partners at MSC Cruises for their trust and commitment to growing their business in Miami-Dade County,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Giménez. “We welcome the MSC Meraviglia to the cruise capital of the world.”

As the newest paddlewheeler on U.S. rivers, the American Countess is already showing record-breaking interest. While still under transformation, the boat will officially debut for her inaugural voyage on April 5, 2020 and will travel from New Orleans to Memphis. To explore upcoming sailings, please find the full schedule here.</span><br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />

	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;">Built using the existing hull of the Kanesville Queen, a former gaming vessel built in 1995, the American Countess was cut in two as part of her planned lengthening, with the addition of a 60-foot mid-body section. The American Countess will offer many of the same exciting heartland and deep South itineraries as her sisters - the American Queen and American Duchess, and will be sailing from April 2020 to January 2021, with additional sailing seasons to be announced.</span><br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />

	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;">“This opening of sales milestone is the next step towards her grand reveal in April 2020,” shared American Queen Steamboat Company EVP of Hotel Operations and New Construction David William Kelly. “On behalf of the entire AQSC team, we are thrilled to see the interest in her inaugural season, and we know that it will be nothing short of what you’ve come to expect and enjoy when sailing with our fleet.”</span><br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />

	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;">Currently under construction, the American Countess will accommodate 245-passengers over the course of six- to 15-day itineraries, including her own “Mighty Mississippi” cruise. The new boat will feature four decks including a Sun Deck, and 123 comfortable, inviting staterooms in four categories. Guests aboard will enjoy cabins that feature a sleek, modern design, offering guests the perfect place to relax and recharge in between delicious dining, premier shore excursions, Broadway-caliber performances and more.</span><br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />

	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;">The unveiling of the American Countess follows the recent addition of the M/V Victory I and M/V Victory II to the American Queen Steamboat Company fleet under the Victory Cruise Lines name, alongside the flagship American Queen, the American Duchess, a 166-guest boutique paddlewheeler sailing the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers and the American Empress in the Pacific Northwest.</span><br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />

<p>
	Geneva, Switzerland (July 1, 2019) — MSC Cruises — the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line — celebrated this past weekend a key global milestone in the company’s history, welcoming its 20 millionth cruiser on board the Miami-based MSC Seaside.
</p>

<p>
	This significant achievement is a testament to MSC Cruises’ expansion since its establishment only in 2003, quickly becoming a global player with one of the highest growth rates in the industry and the introduction of 16 cruise ships over the span of 16 years. In 2019 alone, the company will have launched two new ships — MSC Bellissima in March and MSC Grandiosa in November — and will introduce its new island destination, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, debuting in November.
</p>

<p>
	“Reaching our 20 millionth cruiser is truly a milestone achievement for MSC Cruises, and a representation of how far we’ve come while building a global brand that serves guests from over 170 nationalities across five continents,” said Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises. “With our capacity set to triple by 2027, we will continue to raise the bar in two main areas, on board and ashore, offering our guests a unique experience each time they sail with us. MSC Seaside is the perfect example of this: she is one of the most innovative ships at sea in terms of design as well as onboard experience. She also features the latest and some of the most innovative environmental technology at sea.”
</p>

<p>
	MSC Seaside not only complies with the highest international standards, she also received from international classification society RINA – in addition to the main class notations – its “Green Star 3 Design” certificate. RINA’s Green Star 3 – the latest and most comprehensive edition of the RINA’s Green STAR class notations – specifically recognizes that MSC Seaside reaches the greatest levels of eco-compatibility thanks to the relevance of the various innovative measures put in place which help reducing the environmental footprint during operations. These include, amongst others, the exhaust gas cleaning system, the advanced waste water treatment, systems for the prevention of oil discharge from machinery spaces, the ballast water treatment system, and the ship’s Environmental Management Plan.
</p>

<p>
	Fleet wide, MSC Cruises’ offers guests an enriching cruise vacation inspired by the Company’s European heritage. On board, guests are able to meet people from all over the world, while enjoying fine dining options from world-renowned chefs, exclusive world-class entertainment, award-winning activities and facilities for families and children of all ages, luxurious wellness and comfortable accommodations to meet every need.  On land, MSC Cruises’ guests are then able to discover the hidden treasures of each destination they visit through specially curated tours and one-of-a-kind, immersive experiences designed for each itinerary.
</p>

<p>
	MSC Cruises maintains a foothold as the world’s fastest growing cruise line with an ambitious €13.6 billion EUR (≈15.6 billion USD) investment plan in place, which will introduce a total of 17 ships between 2017 and 2027, bringing the fleet total to 29 cruise ships. In addition to continued global expansion, MSC Cruises has placed a priority on increasing its presence in North America. To this end, by the close of 2019 MSC Cruises will have, for the first time, four ships sailing from Miami — MSC Seaside,
</p>

<p>
	MSC Meraviglia (arriving to North America for the first time in October 2019), MSC Divina and MSC Armonia.
</p>

<p>
	“As MSC Cruises expands its presence in the North American market, the support of and collaboration with our travel advisors is paramount to our success,” said Ken Muskat, EVP and Chief Operating Officer of MSC Cruises USA.  “We were extremely pleased to learn that Mr. Bonachea and his family were booked by one of the largest travel agency networks in the U.S., Dream Vacations, a long time dedicated partner of MSC Cruises.  We look forward to celebrating this occasion with them.”
</p>

<p>
	Raul Bonachea, MSC Cruises’ 20 millionth cruiser, his wife and daughter, from Winter Haven, Fla., are currently sailing on board MSC Seaside for a 7-night cruise that departed from Miami on June 29, booked by Dream Vacations. To honor Raul and celebrate this exciting milestone, MSC Cruises upgraded the family to a luxurious MSC Yacht Club suite, offering the family an elevated ship-within-a-ship experience complete with a private restaurant, pool and lounge as well as 24-hour butler and concierge service. And, to toast the occasion with all of the guests on board, MSC Seaside hosted a 20 Millionth Guest Party on Sunday, June 30 in the ship’s atrium, the social hub of the ship. The celebration was bubbling with complimentary champagne for all guests, a special officers’ parade, an artisan cake and a special performance from one of the ship’s most popular shows. The Captain joined the celebrations and toast, offering congratulations and a special gift for MSC Cruises’ 20 millionth cruiser.
</p>

<p>
	“MSC Cruises is one of our valued partners and we couldn’t be more pleased to learn that our Dream Vacations Travel Agent Myrna Reyes was the booking agent who sold the 20 millionth MSC Cruises customer,” said Drew Daly, senior vice president and general manager of Dream Vacations. “We are excited to be part of the celebrations of this historic milestone.”
</p>

<p>
	“We are thrilled to have sold the cruise voyage to MSC Cruises’ 20 millionth customer,” said Myrna Reyes, travel agent with Dream Vacations – Santisteban and Associates in Miami. “Our agency has long been a believer in the MSC Cruises’ product. We remain convinced that the MSC Cruises’ brand is a spectacular vacation product which offers consumers the most modern and beautiful ships at sea. Our Dream Vacations travel advisors are delighted to be part of this celebration.  We remain loyal to the MSC Cruises’ brand and look forward to being part of the MSC Cruises’ story for the next 20 million consumers and beyond.”

<p>
	DORAL, FL._In May, Regent Seven Seas Cruises announced a new, plant-based menu that would be offered across its fleet of ships beginning in October. Last night, Pam and I were among a small group invited to get a sneak preview of both the new menu and the culinary experience guests can expect on their newest ship, Seven Seas Splendor, debuting next February.
</p>

<p>
	As you might expect from the luxury cruise line leader known for "an unrivaled experience," the event was first rate in every way.
</p>

<p>
	Hosted at the state-of-the-art Eric Barale Culinary Center, named for the Apollo Group's Senior Culinary Director and Executive Chef, Eric Barale, we were greeted by Randall Soy, Regent's executive vice president for sales and marketing, Joe Chabus, director of public relations and Bernhard Klotz, Regent's executive chef and vice president of food &amp; beverage. Barale and his staff were also there to assist throughout.
</p>

<p>
	Anticipation is building for the launch of Regent's fifth and ultra-luxurious ship, Splendor. Judging by the photos and renderings on display, it promises to take a Regent's motto of an "unrivaled experience" to a new level.
</p>

<p>
	The first order of business was getting a glass of Pam's favorite champagne, Veuve Cliquot. No question that got the evening off to the right start.
</p>

<p>
	Our assignment, which we happily accepted, would be to sample a variety of dishes prepared by Chef Klotz and the Culinary Center team. Did I say dishes? More to the point, works of culinary art. Our table was elegantly appointed, just as it might be aboard one of Regent's ships, but the vibe was casual and friendly, which was appreciated.
</p>

<p>
	For starters, they brought out a tray of amuse bouche selections (those French, single-bite hors d'oeuvres). To sample the new plant-based offerings, we were served Sweet Potato and Oat Tart, consisting of roasted cauliflower, broccoli, pine nut-basil pesto, cashew cheese and fried capers. In a word, divine.
</p>

<p>
	It was followed with Siberian Osetra Caviar, a creamy concoction of smoked haddock mousse and lemon cream. So good.
</p>

<p>
	Accompanied by the Clicquot and a selection of red and white wines, we moved on to the "Starters." While all the presentations were outstanding, the serving of the assorted sashimi drew the most "ahhs." It was plated over dry ice, producing a waterfall of cascading smoke that flowed around the table.
</p>

<p>
	Next was the Seared Dover Scallop, with pork belly confit and orange pomegranate sauce, followed up with another presentation "wow" -- Applewood Smoked Salmon Steak. Each serving was plated under a clear cover to capture the smoke, and -- voila! -- all were opened at the same time. The taste was every bit as good as the theatrics.
</p>

<p>
	But wait -- there's more. The main course, in fact. This was an interesting moment for us. When we got the invitation, it asked about any dietary restrictions. Pam and I only have one -- no red meat. Before the main course arrived, which was Veal Rack Loin, Chef Klotz discreetly came over and informed us he had prepared a special dish just for us: Chicken with the most amazing sauce we have ever tasted. We were so impressed, on all counts.
</p>

<p>
	Finally, it was time for dessert. Could we eat anything else? When you hear it's the rarely-served classic, Floating Island of French Meringue, you bet. Unbelievable, and so beautifully done.
</p>

<p>
	Afterwards, Klotz talked about the 200-plus new plant-based menu offerings guests on Splendor and other Regent ships will soon experience. “Plant-based cuisine is an emerging trend," he said. "There are a number of options guests can choose for breakfast, lunch and dinner."
</p>

<p>
	Added Soy: "You don't have to be vegan to enjoy them." Pam and I are proof of that.
</p>

<p>
	One final word to the lucky passengers who'll be the first to sail on Splendor: Pace yourself. Your next port of call is food nirvana.
</p>

		TORONTO- June 11, 2019 – Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Voyages President and CEO Tom McAlpin announced the appointment of Captain Wendy Williams as Master of Scarlet Lady. When Captain Williams takes the helm of Scarlet Lady in spring 2020, she will become the first Canadian woman to be captain of a ship for a major cruise brand. The company also announced a brand-new lineup of itineraries for their premier 2020 season.<br />
		<br />
		“Captain Wendy’s extensive maritime background makes her an excellent choice to lead the Scarlet Lady, but it is her spirit and drive to approach life at sea differently that make her the perfect fit to join the Virgin Voyages family,” said Tom McAlpin, president and chief executive officer for Virgin Voyages.<br />
		<br />
		Originally from the coastal city of Sept-Îles, Quebec on the Northeastern coast of Canada, Captain Williams now resides on her hobby farm on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Captain Williams has more than 28 years of experience working on ships at sea. Her extensive background includes more than a decade as a deckhand in commercial fishing off the western coast of Canada as well as working as a ferryboat captain. Although she has spent more than 15 years working on the bridge of mega cruise ships, her role with Virgin Voyages will be her first promotion to Master of a cruise ship.<br />
		<br />
		“I have salt water in my veins and nothing brings me more joy than being at sea,” said Captain Wendy Williams. “It’s a dream come true to be working with Virgin Voyages, a company that is focused on creating an incredible experience not only for our Sailors but for our Crew as well; while also taking action to minimize our footprint on our oceans.”<br />
		<br />
		Just last year, Virgin Voyages announced its Scarlet Squad program, an initiative dedicated to bridging the gender gap in leadership roles across the maritime industry, where women represent less than three percent of the workforce. The program aims to recruit, support and mentor female shipboard talent, and to grow opportunities for leadership roles in marine, technical and hotel management positions on board.<br />
		<br />
		While Virgin Voyages is still in the early stages of the crew for Scarlet Lady, the company has already recruited Captain Williams as well as nearly a dozen other female officers, including Jill Anderson as hotel director, Christin Wenge as safety officer, Lindsay Kerber as environmental officer, among other incredibly talented female engineers as well as second and third officers.<br />
		<br />
		Virgin Voyages’ intention is to create an onboard environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.<br />
		<br />
		<strong><font size="4">New Voyage Offerings</font></strong><br />
		<br />
		In response to the U.S. government’s new restrictions on travel to Cuba from the United States, Virgin Voyages has also developed an exciting lineup of new itineraries featuring destinations that its Sailors expressed interest in exploring while on a voyage aboard Scarlet Lady.<br />
		<br />
		Continuing the company’s mission to provide its Sailors with epic day and nighttime experiences, the all new itineraries will feature multiple late-night sail aways, including a midnight departure on all new sailings.<br />
		<br />
		Virgin Voyages will now offer five-night Riviera Maya sailings to Cozumel/Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Cozumel and Playa del Carmen offer opportunities for Sailors to experience some of the world’s best diving, as the area is home to 26 coral species. Sailors will also have the opportunity to explore ecological and archeological treasures, including Mayan ruins, or even opt to explore neighboring Tulum, the elevated Bohemian sanctuary with picturesque beaches and diverse nightlife.<br />
		<br />
		For those who just want a quick getaway, Virgin Voyages’ four-night sailings will now become Fire and Sunset Soirées including a sunset departure from Key West and a midnight departure from Bimini. Sailors will experience the cultural and boating paradise of Key West, paired with a day of rejuvenation in Bimini, Bahamas that’s topped off by an exclusive late-night beach bonfire soiree. This celebration under the stars is exclusive to these sailings, and the artistic fire installations draw inspiration from the fireball sculptures on Branson’s Necker Island and the alluring communal nature of a traditional beachside bonfire.<br />
		<br />
		In response to Sailor demand for longer voyages aboard Scarlet Lady, Virgin Voyages has developed special seven-night sailings for the 2020 festive holiday season. Those looking to get a jump start on their holiday planning can opt for the all-new Holidaze and Nights and New Year’s Ahoy voyages, which fall over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays respectively, and feature stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and late-night sail aways in both Bimini, Bahamas and San Juan, Puerto Rico.<br />
		<br />
		All voyages will feature a stop in Bimini, Bahamas, home to The Beach Club, a private club for Virgin Voyages Sailors while Scarlet Lady is on the island.<br />
		<br />
		For more information on Scarlet Lady, future Sailors and First Mates (travel partners) are invited to check out Virgin Voyages by visiting www.virginvoyages.com.

		CALABASAS, CA – (June 5, 2019) – Completing an exciting season of inaugural sailings, AmaWaterways celebrated the debut of AmaMora on the Rhine River on Monday, June 3. Embarking on her maiden voyage from Amsterdam to Basel, the 156-guest ship is the third of a trio of new ships introduced by the luxury river cruise line in 2019 – a record-breaking achievement since the company’s inception in 2002. AmaWaterways fleet now numbers 23 modern ships following the launch this spring of AmaDouro on the Douro River and AmaMagna on the Danube River.  <br />
		<br />
		“We are always excited to introduce new ships to our innovative fleet, but this season has been especially rewarding, and significant, for us,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-founder of AmaWaterways. “We’re thrilled to introduce AmaMora to the Rhine River and look forward to continue exceeding our guests’ expectations with a luxurious onboard experience, enriching shore excursions, exquisite dining venues and of course, the AmaWaterways touch that turns an interesting voyage into an unforgettable personalized experience.”<br />
		<br />
		Like her sister ships AmaLea and AmaKristina, AmaMora offers 78 staterooms, almost all of which feature AmaWaterways’ signature twin balconies. On board, guests can experience the line’s renowned cuisine including exquisite regionally-inspired dishes paired with hand-selected wines at the Main Restaurant and the intimate Chef’s Table Restaurant, as well as an all-day tapas menu, afternoon tea, complimentary daily Sip &amp; Sail cocktail hour, and a 24-hour coffee station.<br />
		<br />
		Designed to meet the needs of discerning travelers, AmaMora features a wide range of amenities including connecting staterooms well-suited to meet the growing demand from multigenerational families. Guests looking to stay active even while on vacation can take advantage of the ship’s Wellness Program, featuring group fitness classes led by a dedicated Wellness Host and a well-equipped fitness center and Sun Deck walking track. As the newest member of the river cruise line best suited for active travelers, AmaMora carries a fleet of complimentary bicycles and organizes guided hiking and biking tours for guests to explore each incredible destination while cruising through The Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland. For the more leisurely traveler, there is plenty of room to lounge by the heated Sun Deck pool, which features a swim-up bar; as well as enjoy massage and hair salon services. In addition, the ship features complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and in-room Entertainment-On-Demand.<br />
		<br />
		Guests looking to immerse themselves in the local culture will enjoy an extensive line-up of up to 20 complimentary tours to choose from during a seven-night cruise. Highlights include the spectacular Rhine Gorge lined with 40 castle ruins and special interest tours like the unforgettable Lahneck Castle visit by candlelight.<br />
		<br />
		AmaMora will be blessed by her Godmother, Co-President of Ensemble Travel Group Libbie Rice, alongside AmaWaterways’ executive team and local dignitaries during a christening ceremony in Lahnstein, Germany the week of July 15, 2019.<br />
		<br />
		Sailing between Amsterdam and Basel, AmaMora will offer the seven-night Enchanting Rhine and Captivating Rhine itineraries, and the festive Christmas Markets on the Rhine itineraries between November 25 and December 23. In addition, returning guests will be recognized with a special Christmas Markets on the Rhine sailing on board AmaMora, departing November 24 as part of the company’s first-ever Loyalty Appreciation Month.<br />
		<br />
		“We are very honored to have a river cruise company like AmaWaterways at the Port of Amsterdam,” said Monic van der Heijden, commercial manager of cruises at the Port of Amsterdam. “AmaWaterways is an example of an exceptional partner for the port due to important factors like their sustainable practices and disciplined captains.”

	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;">Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady, the new adult-by-design cruise ship setting sail in 2020, has already booked voyages with sailors from all over the United States… except South Dakota.</span><br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />
	<br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />
	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;">The average full-time employee in South Dakota uses only 26% of their vacation days to travel. In fact, about 73% of South Dakotans have left over days each year!</span><br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />
	<br style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;" />
	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#666666;font-size:16px;text-align:justify;">To rally some South Dakotans to come sail with Virgin Voyages and use those vacation days, the brand has put out a call for sailors encouraging them to book with clever billboards around the state. To give them even more of a nudge, Virgin Voyages is offering the first lucky South Dakotan who books a cruise a prize package that includes:</span>

Golf enthusiasts can set sail on Azamara’s 12-night voyage to the British Isles and attend the 148th Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. For the first time ever, Azamara Quest will set sail to Alaska this summer, with a total of 11 ports of call including larger ports such as Juneau and Skagway and smaller ports including Hubbard Glacier and Ketchikan, which Azamara is able to access due to its smaller ship size. During these sailings, Azamara’s guests will be able to explore Alaska through the exclusive-to-Azamara Destination Immersion-focused program AzAmazing Evenings, which are complimentary signature evening shore excursions designed to connect guests to the local culture of a destination. AzAmazing Evenings include performances from Sitka’s native Alaskan dancers, Naa Kahídi Tlingit and Russian folk dancing group, the New Archangel Dancers. Aside from the signature AzAmazing Evenings, Azamara also offers other experiences for guests including a ride on the Wilderness Express, off-roading in a Tomcar Kart through Ketchikan’s expansive outdoors, dog sledding in Skagway, and boarding The Mount Roberts Tramway in Juneau.”

	Amani, Japan and Arica, Chile to Fraser Island, Australia and Tema (Accra), Ghana are among the 10 maiden ports Azamara has added to its 2021/2022 voyages. Guests can expect over 140 overnight stays around the world as well as deepen their discovery of Eastern Europe with expanded itineraries to the Black Sea and Turkey, including overnights in Istanbul and a chance to explore hidden gems, Antalya and Sinop. Highlights of the Azamara shore programming include touring Seville’s Alcazar and Palacio de Duenas — two sumptuous Moorish style palaces constructed in the 1300s, which housed some of Spain’s most important kings and aristocratic figures — as well as Antalya, aboard the 15-Night Ancient Wonders Voyage to discover the famous Greco-Roman amphitheater, Aspendos — one of the world’s most well-preserved theaters, which can hold over 15,000 people and is still used today.

Azamara’s culinary team will infuse the restaurant's existing menu with more authentic Italian options such as the “Gnocchi con Salsiccia” — a homemade gnocchi with grilled Italian Sausage, zucchini, and marinara sauce and “Aragosta con Linguine al nero di seppia e Frutti di Mare” — lobster tail with squid ink pasta, shrimp, calamari, scallops, and light-garlic lemon jus.
