    M. Night Shyamalan Films Aboard Allure of The Seas

Royal Caribbean International isn’t promoting it, but a new movie filmed for a couple of days on its Allure of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship. The company’s public relations department tweeted a photo of RCCL President and COO Adam Goldstein with film director M. Night Shyamalan onboard the ship.

When asked for more details, a corporate spokeswoman replied by email that "we don’t have any information we can share at this time.”

A little online sleuthing found out, however, that a Miami casting company was hiring “good-looking, fit bodies” as extras for two days of filming on a docked cruise ship in Fort Lauderdale. The casting notice by Marinella Hume Casting didn’t mention the ship, but it did say it was for “Sundowning,” Shyamalan’s current film in production.

The casting call notices said extras “must have bathing suits and upscale ‘cruise’ wear. … Please note any special skills you have that you may find on a cruise ship. For example: Wakeboarding, Rock Wall Climbing, etc. … We will be on a docked ship for TWO days with matching shots. … We are not going out to sea, but we will be on a working Ship- so be aware ;).”

Shyamalan prefers to keep details about his films secret, but the entertainment trade The Wrap reported on March 21 that the psychological thriller stars Kathryn Hahn as “a single mother whose two young children visit their grandparents … and things go very wrong.” Most of the filming took place in the Philadelphia area.

Curiously, Shyamalan also tweeted a link to a photo on WhoSay, the celebrity photo-sharing site, with the comment: “I knew I should’ve accepted the offer to do Alvin and the Chipmunks 3!” The photo shows him leaning over what looks like a cruise ship railing. The 2011 movie “Alvin and the Chipmunk: Chipwrecked” featured the cute characters taking a cruise on the Carnival Dream. It was the third Chipmunks movie.
