I will be on the Escape on Nov 14, 2015. Excited to see this ship and enjoy a wonderful cruise!

So far 2015 is good! LOL
Booked on the NCL Escape on Nov 14 and ready to go! :)
Going to swim with dolphins (again), swim with sealions (first time) and swim with sea turtles (first time). Whoo Hoo!
As far as riding: I put 300 miles on my bike and John put 300 miles on his trike, the day we got them out of the shop.....then cold weather hit, so we wait. LOL Trike looks like new but I guess it should after all the repairs.
I also have an executive dinner in Dallas next with NCL and our Regional Conference in Houston on the 21st.
Then I am planning a trip to see my daughter in Waco and go to our annual USAF Thunderbirds air show in June then a visit to my daughter in St Louis in July, then the cruise in November.
I'm ready. :)

After an exhaustive search to no end. I have concluded that the best hotel I can stay in for my my April cruise out of Miami, is right at the airport.
I have finally booked at the Miami International Airport Hotel. So much easier than struggling to find a hotel, then shuttle service.
I can land, go upstairs to my room, eat, sleep, wake up, go downstairs and use the new Cruise check-in at concourse d or h, get my sail and sign cards and get a shuttle (booked through Carnival) to take me to the ship. After my check in at the airport, I will be able to go to an express check in line at the cruise port and board the ship. Just a few less things to stress about. Now I need airfare. LOL
I am so used to driving to a cruise port I forgot all the details that can be so stressful about flying, then getting to the ship and back. Once I have airfare booked I can relax...........I hope. :)

Next month from Miami to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman, then in December from New Orleans to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Cozumel. :)

I just booked someone on the Triumph in May so I guess they are not letting that incident stop them. As for me, I will cruise till I die....who knows, that may be my nursing home at sea. LOL

I get car sick and sea sick on small boats. I have never taken any OTC or Rx for seasickness on any cruise and have never gotten sick. They are so stable that even when we experienced really choppy waters with alot of pitch and yaw, I never got sick.
I have heard that Ginger works, plus the patches behind the ears, but I don't know first hand. I can tell you from someone that can't ride in the back seat of car without getting seriously nauseous that I do great on ships without any aide of any kind. As stated before, the ships have stabilizers that keep them from doing alot of movement. I also do better in a balcony that on the inside cabins. I can look at the horizon and get that "stabilization" too. :)

Can't wait! Finally under 30 days till we head from Miami and cruise on the Victory. Looking forward to a vacation :)

Thank you Jason. I have been a slacker while I was taking classes but I am back on the hunt for good/great info and will be sending more port guides soon! I really enjoy doing this and I LOVE this board!

Booked on the Victory in April and the Sunshine in December 2013!! Very excited! We had to cancel a cruise early this year (would have left next month). Broke my heart but now we are doubled up again. :)))

Been Using that app for a few years. Love it. Keep track of other people's cabin #'s traveling with you. Port ideas, Explore your ship and deck plans and more. Really love this app. I have one for my three cruislines I have sailed on. A must have.

Two minor, yet fun updates to the settings available to all members:
1. A new profile field titled "Cruising Since." As the name implies, it shows the year you took your first cruise. If you had previously entered a full date (year, month, day) of your first cruise within your profile, it has been converted to show the year only. Your "cruising since" date will now be visible next to all of your forum posts along with other helpful, fun information. Update this field and the rest of your profile here. Example:



2. "Like This" daily limits increased. Previously there was a low limit to the number of times you could click the "Like This" button in a day. It didn't make sense to have this limit since clicking the button is a way to help identify helpful, valuable, or fun content and helping identify such content shouldn't be limited. Now each member can hit the "Like This" button many more times per day, helping highlight the best content on the site more than before. Here's what the button looks like, I encourage you to all click it whenever you come across something that deserves it!

Another "reason" for not cruising I've been hearing from the skeptics is noro-virus. It amazes me how many people think it's only found on cruise ships, not realizing that the "stomach virus" going around the local schools, college dorms, hospitals, nursing homes and every other place where large crowds gather is essentially the same virus. Of course, the media makes it look worse than it is.

These are common misconceptions among many people. But I think cruising has changed in recent years and cruise lines are catering to all ages. As for being dangerous - I'd rather be on a ship than on the road with thousands of drivers texting or putting on their makeup!
