Very good. Also we book our own air for the reasons you have given. We once booked air thru Princess and then the route was not revealed until a few weeks before we left and it was awful. We flew Chicago to Salt Lake, then to LAX, then to Tahiti and back the same way.
However we plan a cruise on the Sapphire next Feb. and now Princess air gives you options for flights. From what I saw the prices are competitive too.
Now we always take precautions when we book. Go in a few days or at least one day early so you practically eliminate missing the ship and always buy travel insurance.

Or if it's too good to be true it ain't!
Many yrs. ago we got sucked in to a high pressure time share presentation and I caved in and wrote a check. Thank God it was a Sunday. I came to my senses and Monday put a stop payment on the check. I noticed that a lot of what they said contradicted what was in the contract and so I went back there and he voided the contract but said he could not give me my money back. I'll never forget the look of total frustration on his face when I told him I stopped payment on the check. A week later they had vacated the office.

Utterly cool list!
We have been to Rome and Ephesus in the month of Oct. and I highly recommend this time to go there. The weather is way better, the crowds are less, far less and its less $$ too. We had a private guide in Ephesus as well and its worth it. Did you se the terrace houses?

The only thing I did not like about our last cruise was the behavior of the crew member at our muster station. He acted like a drill Sgt. and really our group was quiet so I thought there was no need for this.
However if people were distracting others due to being too loud then do what you must to get their attention but don't but don't get bossy unless you have to.

We usually do our own air and as advise buy ins. and fly in ahead of time. We booked air once with the cruise line for the so. Pacific and disliked the routing. We went from Chi. to Salt Lake City, then to LA, then to Papeete. The return was the same and this was with Princess so we did not know the routing until after the purchase so never again.

I read that now X has a type of scanner for stored luggage that can detect alcohol making what it is contained in irrelevant.

This is really cool Danny. I am challenged to think of any other travel site that has this sort of features. Thanks Danny and jason for creating this. Awesome!

Thanks Danny. I have a question if you can get to it, well maybe two Do you get days off and how many hrs. a day does the crew work? Thanks! Larry

So every 21 days you are stuck for 1 week on the ship?? Thats sucks. I have seen that many of the cooks are Indian. Can they cook for you or can the crew cook their own food? I mean if the Indian guys cook that some good stuff.

Thank you. This helps me recall our very 1st cruise, to the western med. We took a cab from Livorno and saw Pisa and Florence. I still remember having lunch at an outdoor cafe overlooking the tower in Pisa. That was a wow! moment. We did enjoy Naples as we chose to see Pompei and was amazed by that. We saw some nice sites and had a great, funny and personable cab driver named Ernesto (Ernie) who I will never forget. After our day out we had dinner with a couple who did the Amalfi coast and raved about the views. You can also see herculaneum, the other city buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvious. Cheers, Larry

Interesting. Maybe you are enthralled by what is unfamiliar. We were in Tahiti and had a cab ride from this French girl so thinking that you are in paradise i asked her where she like to go for her vacations. Well to my amazement she said Las Vegas!!
We shared a minivan from our hotel in Miami to the ship with a Dutch family who are used to seeing Amsterdam, old style Europe. So what were they enthralled by? The high rise skyline of Miami!!
