  1. Jan we were in China in September and as for food it was either Chinese, I.e. no Italian, French, Greek, etc. or KFC which we say a lot of. Yep not much variety. However we also went to Kuala Lumpur and that was food paradise!
  2. Holy cow! Dont mean to be a Donny Downer but I am reminded of what an officer on the X Equinox said about such ships with huge passenger capacities. We attended a presentation about navigation and he said imagine a situation like what happened on the Concordia and think of what it takes to keep order among so many during such an emergency. Food for thought.
  3. What agency do you work for? just heard on GMA this morning that her hubby is not a suspect. So who did it and why?
  4. Such abusive relationships are hard for me to comprehend. I just the truth comes out and if punishment is due it’s meted out and this guy never will have a chance to hurt anyone else again, p

  6. I read that these charges became auto due to passengers skipping out of paying the traditional tips. I would love it if the lines dropped it and paid the employees what the “tips” would have given them. I do wonder if prices will go up however. Out of one pocket and dipping into another.
  7. Funny thing is we actually made money. Our Allianz agent said my primary insurance had to deny the claim first so the business office ran my insurance and sure enough it was denied so Allianz took over. The bill for 5 days at Samitivej hospital in Bangkok was just under 6 k, extremely reasonable by US norms and Allianz paid it all. About 6 weeks after we got back home we got a check from my primary insurance company for 90% of the bill or about $5400.00. All I conclude is that when the final total was in they resubmitted it and this time it was approved.
  8. We always get it. In 2013 my wife had to be hospitalized in Bangkok two days after arrival there. We had been in India and she got sick there but it really got worse by the time we reached Thailand. The entire hospital bill was paid and BTW the care was excellent. In 2014 our flight home from Madrid was cancelled due to super storm Sandy so I had to book our own fare as UA proposed a return 5 days past our scheduled flight and no way would that have worked. Again our travel insurance paid for it. BTW I called UA seeking a partial refund for the return they cancelled. To my amazement they refunded the entire ticket even though they got us to Europe for our cruise.
  9. That’s nice though I find it surprising that even the oldest ships in the fleet will get these renovations.
  10. Thank you Zebra about clarifying that term. Sort of lost in translation for me. I wonder how long she had to rest before she was filmed walking on that ship and I imagine she had some IV fluids too yet yes she did look pretty spry considering her ordeal Yes Andi I think momma went overboard in her criticisms. No pun intended of course. ?
  11. I found it. This news is widespread. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6080811/Captain-Norwegian-Star-described-British-air-hostess-jumper-falling-cruise-ship.html This article notes momma is a pensioner. What does that mean? I would hope sonny is taking care of her. I am sure he can afford it. In any case NCL needs to clean this one up.
  12. Really? Wow! Got a link to that? Seems very inappropriate. What does sonny say to momma? ?

  14. it does seem this propulsion system is gaining popularity. From what I read there has to be significant infrastructure for more ships to be built using this LNG.
  15. Its possible she was a bit tipsy and lost her balance. In any case no squabble is worth this. I hope she learned her lesson if it happened due to a dispute and alcohol.
  16. First of all this is another behemoth ship which of course is the trend these days. I do wonder if operating costs will be reduced due to greater fuel efficiency though if so I don’t think this will reduce prices. Isnt Aida a German ship geared to the German market? I’ve heard most announcements are in German as is entertainment.
  17. You can go there yourself. They charge about $45.00 to enter but you can do it on your own.
  18. That’s why I said this was 2002. ?. Options now are much better.
  19. Easy. My own coffee. This was 2002 on the Splendor of the Seas.
  20. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/royal-caribbean-bans-emotional-support-animals-from-all-cruises-2018-08-14 Hmmm. So what do other cruise lines do? This as the article says is not to be confused with service animals. Those will still be allowed.
