  1. Depends how you drink it. Most hard liquor (hate that term) is used with mixers. Wine can be the most potent since it is generally drunk 'as is' and with a 10%+ content can be quite potent. Dreamer, you are quite correct about education from the parents - we have always had alcoholic drinks on full display in our house and it has never been 'forbidden fruit' and we have taught our kids to enjoy and respect it at the same time. They are now 21 and 19 (males), drink responsibly and would never dream of drinking and driving. We need to get rid this negative attitude in the US. By the way, we are originally from Scotland and are naturalized US citizens hence our realistic attitude towards alcohol.
  2. We always use www.travelinsured.com. Great rates and good coverage. You can do the whole thing on-line with your credit card, print out the policy/certificate and you're all set! We use their comprehensive travel protection/world wide trip protector product.
  3. The USA is one of the few countries in the world that has such a high drinking age. Most of the rest of the world especially Europe, the drinking age is 18. If you allow an 18 year old the responsibility of voting, joining the miitary and possibly fighting in a war, then why the hang-up over alocohol? Most American youths don't know how to handle drinking in moderation partly because of the "forbidden fruit" attitude. To the best of my knowledge, RCI are the only cruise line that will serve alcohol to 18 year olds. Good for them!
  4. Our next cruise is September 23rd on the Island Princess out of los Angeles on a 15-day round trip to the hawaiian islands. It will be our 25th anniversary on the 27th of September!
