  1. These bank holiday weekends are a saviour!!! Batteries need recharging right now. Is it true that most passengers put on 14 pounds in a fortnight whilst cruising (our cabin steward told us this... it scared the life out of me ) Has anyone been on a cruise to Iceland? I'm wondering whether to pack the thermal underwear!!!
  2. Karen... many thanks for your comments above. Time is ticking by soooo slowly, July can't come quick enough for me!!! I couldn't find your review  Kaz
  3. Good to know you had a great time. Looking forward to seeing some pictures! How was it with your American passengers? I've cruised on the Oriana and felt that the Brits were rather stuffy (particularly the older generation... I couldn't resist curtsying to a few of them ... heavens forbid, they were simply awful). Anyway, taking a huge risk and cruising with the Yanks in July !!! Hope they are as up-beat I as imagine them to be!

  6. The Caribbean would be a sensible destination, but we are crazy, so heading for Iceland!!! (really). We're English (about 40 miles outside of London).
  7. Thanks for info. I notice that this ship confiscates any booze bought ashore, until the end of cruise. We were able to keep duty free and consume on P & O (oriana). Looks like my son is about to have a 2 week detox experience (chuckle)!!! With the lad in mind... is it likely that there will be others around his age group? Kaz
  8. How strict are the drinking rules? We sail on the Sea Princess in July this year and after booking, I realised that my son (who will be 2 months off his 21st birthday), will be unable to drink because this is an American liner. My son is horrified  and thinks this is the end of the world! Will he be able to get away with a few pints on board? Many thanks Kaz
