  3. I guess this is the time of year they update the excursion pages for next years season.... does anyone about how long this usually takes....? Trying to search for a Sept. cruise on the Serenade..... I checked to see Carnival's site as well and thiers is out for Alaska too.....
  4. Taking the Serenade next year to Alaska with family, they will be next door, we have balcony cabins (9576 & 9578) on the bump.... on Princess there was a door between the balconies that could be opened by the steward with a key.... is that possible on the Serenade? Anyone have first hand knowledge of these cabins? First time with RCI.... Thanx.....
  5. We're taking the Serenade out of Vancouver next September... can anyone recomend a good company for transfer from Seattle ....? Flying into Seattle the day before and staying in Vancouver... need good, comfortable, reliable transportation from Seattle... help?
  6. We have only cruised once before, on Princess, and I have some questions for all you Royal Caribbean vetrans.... I've heard that RCCI is more strict with their alcohol/wine policies. I was able to bring a case of wine onboard Princess packed in the wine box itself and checked with our luggage. Their official policy says no but reality was different. What does RC do?  Also, what is their tipping procedure? Are they added to my account like on Princess? This was quite convenient, and I could tip extra if I wanted to, but didn't have to worry about disbursing out the money myself. Well, we don't sail until Sept. 06, so as the questions come to me, as Arnold says.... "I'll be back".... thanx
  7. Well, after buying a "ghost booking" during our first Princess cruise 6 weeks ago, we thought we'd do an Alaska cruise in Sept. 2006... it looks like Princess is putting all of their ships with an inside pool on the "one way" itineraries , and only 2 ships doing the round trip out of Seattle ( Dawn & Sun )... but they don't have a covered or inside pool, which I would think might come in handy on a cruise to Alaska.... this makes it nessesary for me to look at other lines, and I think we may go with RCCL... their Serenade and Radiance ships have nice solariums.... my deposit with Princess is good for 4 years, and I was looking forward to the returning cruisers party, but we may have to go with Royal Caribbean. Am I off base in thinking that they should at least keep ONE of these ships on the inside passage run?
  8. A group of friends planning an Alaska cruise for next year... which itinerary is best for first cruise? Inside passage round trip out of Seattle, or one way to Glacier Bay and Ancorage out of Vancover? You "seasoned" Alaskan cruisers need to advise please....

  10. Does anyone know if I can have more than one room access placed on my key card? My kids are accross the hall with Nana and it would be much easier if we could access each others rooms without exchangeing key cards... thanx
  11. Hi to all... taking my family of 5 (including Nana) on the Diamond in 2 weeks. We are quite excited, we are on the Aloha deck with an inside and an outside balcony cabin...(guess who gets the inside...). I"ve heard there will be over 800 children running amuck with us so my twin boys age 10 should have a great time. It's always that way when you have kids in school as vacations must be taken during "spring break" and in summertime....(parents, want to form a "support group"?)... Would love to meet fellow cruisers so just give us a holler....
