  1. Good Morning

    Being retired with not a lot to do means I can get on the forum later.

    Breakfast is over for another Sunday;

    Scrambled Farm Fresh Eggs for us and fried for the pups. Thick cut Hickory Smoked bacon fried to the exact crispness packaged by Mrs Wright's, and this week Pillsbury Grands biscuits with real butter and Grape Jelly by Welch's. Coffee is always on and again today Singing Rooster Blend from Haiti.

  2. Good Morning

    It's Friday in my part of the world.

    Temps are warming from the 50s once again. Had 80s earlier in the week and looking at 70s and possible 80s again this weekend.

    As is with Mary Lou, we got the laundry done yesterday, did a few errands Wednesday and fueled the Tahoe. Gas was $1.90 here for regular.

    Not a lot else going on.

  3.  Cool front has arrived today.

    Expecting a high of 51* compared to the upper 70s from the last few days.

    Social media is still active. I think the cruise forums are really the ones lacking. So many nay Sayers on most complaining about it's the cruise company's fauilt for this and that they have no control over. Also the old schoolers are drifting away with propulsion issues. I used to be on several and only occasionally stop by here as this is the last cruise forum I'm on. My opinion is that most of these are run by TA's and have gotten to commercial. I will also say upgrades are good for younger folks but not for older peeps as we don't really like change.

    I guess that's it from me.

  4. Good Morning;

    Late for me and really late for you North Easterner's.

    Weather continues nice  for January. Expected 65* and sunny today.

    Andi; a slight correction. We live in Waco. Half way between Dallas and Austin.

    I haven't posted this in a bit but Sunday is breakfast time;

    Today;

    Golden brown Pancakes with Maple syrup and real butter (none of that yuppie squeeze stuff), Eggs can be fried hard as I do for the pups, over easy or sunny side up, your choice. Also not for the vegans, Thick cut Hickory Smoked Bacon fried crisp, our brand choice is Mrs Wright's.

  5. Good Morning.

    After a crappy weekend weather we had a nice day yesterday just to be back to crappy weather today, Such is winter I guess.

    I finally found the links to improve the text and color. I had the resolution set too high and it wasn't showing up.. Instead of 100% I had it set at 175%

    Oh well

  6. :biggrin:

    Good Morning ... I will say red and turquoise is very difficult to see.

    Any bold and 18 point is good. Indigo, Black, even Maroon on bold is good. Can't see where to change font size or color.  Although IT thinks it's cute to constantly change, it's tough on some and makes us disappear. Maybe that's what they want.

    71* last night at 10 pm. It was nice sitting on the deck and watching the clouds and moon poke thru.

    In reference to my vision ... Finally got to stop going every three weeks for injections and back to every 6 weeks. Vision has stablized some what but still a long way from good. About 20/80 in left eye (corrected) and 20/200 or worse in the Rt.

    Someone tell me how to get back to seeing last post first instead of wandering all thru a bunch of posts. sorry.

  7. Good Morning

    Thought I'd stop by and say Hi ... Still having issues navigating this site (due mainly to vision)  the contrast of grey/gray  font with a white background is difficult to read. It seams as though every IT guy (idiot in training) has gone with this format.

    Weather here is WOW, Saturday was 15* and we set a new record for a high yesterday at 81*. Been reathe windy also with sustained winds of 20-30 mph and gusts well over 40 mph. Kinda feel like March.

    Not much going on really, we survived the holiday without the cops being called so that's a good thing. Had to find Kathy some new health ins as her old provider increased from $204. per month to almost $600. pm. Affordable care my ass.

    Coffee is ready ... Davis Mountain Blend from So America. We get it locally at a free trade shop.

    Ta Ta.

  8. Morning;

    Temps in the 80s now for a week, still humid as heck with rain in the area. A total of about 4 in last week with some getting around 9 in within a 20 mile radius. Did get the yard mowed between showers.

    Typical home stuff to do mainly laundry.

    The exciting times at Bumpy Acres.

    Nothing going on so CYA

  10. Don't get on here much any more.

    Just hot in Central Texico. 15 days of 100+ with the heat index ( Chill Factor ) of 105* to 110*

    Not a lot going on. Tried to take a short weekend trip to SA and it just hasn't worked out.

    RAY ... No Cruises planed. Kathy don't like the Interstate and I no longer drive. It's also kinda hard on us at the dock so I guess we're mostly finished cruising.

    Grand son is Graduating on the 20th from a Tech (2 year associate degree) college and moving to Dallas for an already job.

    Life is as life is.

  11. Good Morning from down Texas way.

    Weather is typical Texas, someone turned off the faucet about 3 weeks ago and it's been mid to upper 90's since and plenty humid.

    Not a lot going on, No cruises planned. A couple of short road trips if I can get everyone on the same page (don't look to be happening though). May be just me and Kathy if we want to go.

    Eyesight? well I thing we're winning some skirmishes but we're definitely loosing thew war. I did pick up a large letter back lit keyboard which is nice.

    A neighbor built me a 5 X * ft sitting area next to our front steps so now I can watch the mosquitos install landing lights on the driveway.

    Well so much from Bumpy Acres down Tejas way.

  12. Good Morning;

    Ray; 7 meds for C.O.P.D. ? sounds extreme. I also have and only use Spriva. Advair will make you hoarse (been there) so that's a no go.

    Weather has been really nice down Tejas way. May have some thunder boomers tonight. Mid 70s to low 80s.

    Guess not much else.

    Coffee is ready.

  13. Good Morning;

    Been a bit since I was here . Computer took a dump and had to buy a new one (No Apple products for me especially after their refusal to help the Govt.) Bought a Dell tower, 8 gig memory and 1 TB hard drive with an Intel processor.. I also replaced my 32* LED TV with a new 48" Smart Roku TV and turned the 32" into a computer monitor.

    Same week I had an Ophthalmologist appoint and had to get new glasses, not the $99. for two pair kind, a single pair for $680. Hopefully they will improve my vision for a time. Slowly headed into darkness so hope this helps.

    Weather here has been up and down , 80 one day 50 and rain the next, had the 50 and rain yesterday so hoping for 70's at lkeast so I can mow again.

    That's about all for Rolling flat lands of Central Tejas,

    Have a good weekend

  14. Thanks for the replies about Carnival. We most likely will not be cruising due to several reasons, mainly my eyesight. I just thought courious that they were not considered. I don't have the number of cruises that some have nor the experience of multiple brands as we don't fly and have a limited number of brands available from Galveston. JMO I prefer Carnival due to it's not as stuffy as some lines. I think after CCL, I'd try NCL just from reports. My Sister has sailed quite a few lines and seems to always go back to CCL. Oh well so much for my opinion which with a couple of bucks can buy a coffee or a soda.

    Coffee is ready (Honduran Dark Roast this morning)

    Later Jim.

  15. Bom dia;

    Just stopped in to say hi.

    Returned from our 7 day western Carib cruise aboard the Carnival Freedom last Sat. Had a wonderful time, Good friends, a surprise show up from my Sister and BIL. Good food, great service and a wonderful time. Itinerary was Roatan, Honduras, Belize and Cozumel.

    Not a lot to report, eye injection again yesterday. I really don't know where this is going as the price of meds has gone thru the roof of a 10 story bldg and improvement is almost negligible. Oh well such is life.

    I guess I better quit fouling up this thread and say.

    Later Jim

    P.S. why no Carnival ships suggested on the group cruise? Just curious.
