Guests bringing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages onboard are now required to do so in a carry-on or hand luggage, rather than in a checked bag.
The cruise line announced that guests will be able to bring small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages in a carry-on or hand luggage on board only on boarding day. Checking in non-alcoholic beverages will no longer be permitted.
Specifically, non-alcoholic beverages brought onboard may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Distilled water or specialized beverages such as, milk for medical purposes, dietary or infant use, are permitted.
Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board any cruise ship, with the exception of being able to bring two bottles of wine per stateroom.

We are also very interested to cruise to Cuba and actually would prefer to do it now before it gets so "commercialized" -  it's not long after the US$$$$'s start flowing in to these islands before the Diamonds International and the likes will pop up everywhere.  The only deterrent for me right now is the $70 visa that Americans have to buy.

Let's make sure we all check that an answer has not already been made. I know it's real easy to respond to an update on email and not realize that there has already been someone who has responded to the game. We've all done it at some stage, for sure. This is just a reminder.

Hey Jackie no worries at all!! It was a great weekend indeed and I finally finished the birthday cake leftovers tonight. Looks like it’s back on the treadmill for me!

Oh my goodness!  Yes all I could think of were the poor animals ...... so glad most were rescued in time.

Sounds delicious.  I love indian food, the hotter the better for me, then again I grew up eating it in South Africa.  Looking forward to trying your recipe.

All i can add is that we have tailored our packing down considerably because we no longer do formal nights.  We did about 30 formal night cruises and then decided we prefer to not go to the dining room on formal nights any more.  We don't need any expensive photos either.  So we remain cruise casual and go up to the buffet on those evenings .... so much more relaxed.

I think this is one of the smartest moves by the cruise industry.  Let's hope the trend spreads across all cruise lines.

Bon Voyage Andi - I too am super excited to hear about your river cruise and see pictures. Please post pics of the ship, I would love to see what it looks like. I have only seen them docked in Amsterdam.
 

Two other things I loved about the Royal.  
1) The dancing color fountains on the pool deck every evening - stunning!!
2) Their "Movies Under The Stars" is perfected.  We were given blankets and pillows on the loungers and then they brought around popcorn, after which we also received hot chocolate and cookies.
Andi, we love Alfredo's as well, delicious pizza.

Yes we took a boat from the dock to the Atlantis!!

Back in the day there was no MMR vaccination.  I had measles, mumps and rubella before the shots came out.  Having had 6 kids in the house, we could never escape the childhood diseases when they came home from school with them.  Supposedly one has immunity after contracting the disease.

Yikes!...sounds miserable.  So, if I am right, that means that someone who had the chicken pox is more likely to get the shingles? I have heard that shingles is very painful.

my sister, who is 6 years younger than me, came home from school with chicken pox. She didn't have many pox on her body though. Well I caught it from her and had 3 times as many pox including some in my mouth would you believe and then my mother contracted it while taking care of us and as an adult she had it full blown. Hardly a place on her body without a spot.  My Mom and I had a few lasting scars from them too.

Me too!!!  Having been on the Royal Princess twice (and Enchanted is the 5th Royal class) - I can honestly say I have never been on such a beautiful ship ...... how exciting!!!
