  1. Hi Everyone I have been off this site for quite awhile but decided to come back and see if I can keep up and catch up w some of the folks I have connected w in the past. A lot of member names sound familiar...that was nice to see. We have cruised mainly w Celebrity and also a few on Royal Caribbean. Our last cruise was on the Allure. Loved the ship. We have cruised the caribean, med, transatalantics and will be cruising to Alaska in june 2013. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Gail
  2. It has been so exciting watching the progress of the Solstice. Will look forward to hearing the results of the undocking. We are booked to sail on her April 19th. 15night transatlantic. Plenty of sea days to discover all of her nooks, crannies and special spots. Gail
  3. ok... now i miss everyone more than before. truely a magical trip shared with so many new friends. It was amazing going through that window. we were in with all of that luggage before we knew it. Tonia any luck with the roommate situation? Sure hope we both get to come along with this group. Joey, I am sure your pins came out great. You have high expectations- i know we discussed this one time about picturing something in your head being one way and when it doesn't turn out just what you had pictured- you can be disappointed. That's me too.... so I can imagine your reaction. How is the planning coming along? Any new takers? Gail
  4. Joey I'd be proud to wear your design. You did a great job designing it. The blue will make a nice touch. Now...just have to continue to keep my fingers crossed for us to go. I have to tell you... every time I open my jewelry box and see the millie pin- I smile with the wonderful memories. Gail
  5. We voted with our fingers crossed that we will be able to make it. I really want to do this group cruise. Only time will tell. Gail
  6. to bed after midnight after shows and casino and up by 9am on sea days but earlier on port days.
  7. Black jack table...thats where you will find Paul every evening and on sea days. I love to watch and to play when finances allow. We also love Let It ride but don't see that much on the ships. If it has to be a machine play, it would be video poker.
  8. Yipeeee.... the countdown has begun. Enjoy the anticipation. Wishing you smooth sailing, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Gail
  9. We love the whole feeling of being on the ship, good value- entertainment, food etc- don't have to think about what to do in the evenings- everything is there for you. Plus- unpack once and see a different port everyday! Love, Love, Love the whole experience! Gaol
  10. We would really love to do this group cruise... we may be to taking our oldest grandson to Disney the fall of 2009. if his folks come down with us (which is what they are considering doing) we may be able to work both since we would be in florida anyways. We would be interested in one of the first two options. But price and time will be the key to whether can swing it. I have got my fingers crossed. Joey...Thanks for your research... Gail
  11. We sail solo as a couple... can't seem to find anyone of our friends who are interested in cruising. too bad for them. But we enjoy each others company and it is nice to be able to do your own thing. We certainly did find it fun to meet so many from our roll call on our last cruise. It made it quite fun to know others. Gail
  12. We are okay with leaving from florida. It does have its pros although more expensive for us. We would prefer either RCCL or Celebrity. We really would prefer to stay away from Carnival. Looks like the Caribbean is going to win this poll. We will just have to try revisiting the med/ greek isles/turkey in 2010. something else to look forward to. Gail
  13. Well Joey....I voted but I really wanted to vote twice. We had a hard time making a decision although I voted for the med....cruising out of NJ is appealing because of the sea days and the cost savings for us not having to include an expensive flight in the budget. As I have said, we would love for a cruise where most the most people can go who are interested. we are flexible. Gail
  14. Jackies and Carmen...We also liked Barbados. Did some off road excursion that brought us to some beautfil views. Diane- how was the TA? We are planning on booking one for Nov 2008. We will be visiting the Canaries as well. how was the crossing...bumpy or smooth. how about temps? Glad to see you back on the board and hope that something can be worked out for a reunion. Joey, when do you leave for your cruise? Tonia- are you still around? Any luck talking to your TA? better run- checking in at work... Gail
  15. Joey I like the second cruise you listed. Is that on Celebrity? on the Galaxy? I like the overnight in Istanbul. Have you ever sailed on the Galaxy? If everyone decides on the carribbean we could go along with that choice but the med does call you once you have been. G
  16. Diane Nice to see you again... thanks for coming out of lurking mode We would also love a RT out of Rome. i agree with you that one day ws not enough and would love to do a pre cruise or post cruise stay in rome. Turkey is suppose to be fabulous. Hope we can work something out that all can agree on for timetable, interest and cost. How are you guys? Where have your travels brought you recently? give our best to Lou. take care... Gail
  17. Joey- yes, would like a longer cruise as well Alaska would be fine with us but I don't think Oct is the time for Alaska cruising. Tonia- that would be great if you want to see what your TA could come up with for pricing for SA. I was shocked by the cost of air fare. As far as the caribbean....is Oct hurracaine season? Anyone interested in the Hawaii choice? We could use frequent flyer miles to the west coat which cuts down on our cost. Lets keep talking... I really hope we can work something out. Gail
  18. I looked at the airfare and it is also soooooo expensive. A quick look- close to 2000 each. so we will have to pass on the SA. Austrailia would be nice but I am sure airfare will kill that option for us. I hate being a downer but the money part really is the limit for us. We could always do the caribbean if we wanted to keep cost down and truely wanted the opportunity to cruise together. Lets not give up yet. We will find a compromise that will work. Gail
  19. Tonia...too rich for our budget as well...but it would be wonderful place to visit. i would not mind doing the med again- would like to go go to Istanbul. Hawaii would be nice.
  20. We would love to see everyone again and to re-live the "magic". It was a great trip shared with fabulous people. We would certainly strongly consider a fall 2009 trip. It of course will depend on finances etc, etc...hmmm... South America does sound interesting and I think cheaper than the Baltics. Anyone care to join us in 2008? We are planning on booking a transatlantic on the Voyager of Sea in November. Sure hope there is some interest from some of the crazies for a reunion cruise. Perhaps some are lurking. Diane and Lou are you out there? Kareen and Harvey??/ Gail
  21. A big happy healthy new year's wish to all the crazies! Enjoy each and every day of 2008. Gail
  22. Tonia... wow cruise time again! Enjoy! i can hardly believe it has been a year since the Med. Have a ball with your friends. Look forward to hearing all the details when you return. Hugs... Gail
  23. Hi Kareen Still no one from the cruise crazies joining in....shucks. I see the cc board is getting a few more postings. I am hoping that we will soon be able to make a final decision. My friend Janet may have found a possible cabinmate if she decides to go. Some of the family from Israel are coming to the states in november- they are bringing the grandkids to disney in orlando. it looks like we will be joining them with others from the states for a mini family reunion. We weren't planning on this but can't resist. we will be trying to do the cheap version of a trip to disney. Would like to save money for the cruise. We may wait until we return in november to book if we are going to go on the cruise. I have my fingers crossed. Any plans set yet? I know you have been looking at flights etc. have fun with the planning. did you find diane and lou's information helpful? having just returned from our summer trip out west to Yellowstone etc.... I am anxious to start planning for something. I can't be tripless- that would be like being bookless which I also don't like to be. take care and say hi to susanne and harvey for us. gail
