  4. In Cozumel, we did an excursion thru the cruiseline....it had the word "eco" in the title but can't remember exactly what it was called. We went by open-air bus on a small tour of the island, then on to a lighthouse for a quick stop. There were vendors selling crafts there. Then we went to a beach, where they had reserved chairs and beach umbrellas for us. You could snorkel with the group or just hang out on the beach. They showed us various things along the way, a small mayan ruins, the beach where the turtles lay their eggs and then people go out and mark the spots with signs, we saw a HUGE iguana. The tour guides were excellent - very humorous and they had coolers with beer, soda and water onboard. We have been on a lot of cruises and we all agreed it was one of the best excursiosn we have ever been on.
  5. Thanks Shaunna.....they seem to be getting closer together!!!

  6. Thanks Keith & Rita....think it is going to be a quiet, relaxing one!!!

  7. Tim, wishing you the best cruise ever!!!
  8. Carmen, wishing you and Ronald, a wonderful, romantic cruise. Bon Voyage.
  9. Jenn, hope you and Hugh are having a wonderful, relaxing cruise.
  10. Rose, hope you and your daughter are having an awesome cruise.
  11. Stefen, we won't be on your sailing, but we did sail on the Miracle at the end of January. You will love the ship. We had an aft suite, with a wrap around balcony, seperate bedroom and living room, jacuzzi tub, walk in closet...it was great, but it did spoil us. It was hard to reserve a "regular" cabin for our upcoming cruise on the Dream. But it did make us realize that we loved the aft cabins and booked another one there. We have been on 14 Carnival cruises and I must say, that the food on the Miracle was the best I have ever had at sea.
  12. Love the new avatar pic Sheri.....what happened to the blonde hair? I know how that goes, as of yesterday, mine is almost red with some strawberry highlights....

  13. Kevin, wishing you, Sharon and the family, a fabulous trip. I hope our weather forecasters are wrong, it has been known to happen. At least you will have a couple of days to try and get to San Juan as you were flying out 2 days early. On our cruise in Jan., we did that, as our weather here is so unpredictable, but luckily we got out on our scheduled flight and I will be praying that you guys do too.
  14. As others have said, just enjoy it. What ports are you going to.....you said Western, so I am wondering if it will be Cozumel, Montego Bay and Grand Cayman. I love Grand Cayman - that and St. Johns are my favorite ports. If you drink soda, I would recommend taking your own onboard. A can of soda will cost you 2.24 onboard, but they do allow you to bring your own. I had 2 six packs of diet coke in my suitcase on our cruise last month. Carnival allows you to bring your own. And there should be a mini fridge in your cabin. Also, it is a good idea to take an extension cord as there will be only one outlet in the cabin, and that is at the desk area. We also take a small electric clock as there is no clock in the cabin. We always take binoculars. We spend a lot of time sitting on our balcony on sea days, and it is always fun to get a closer look at other ships on the horizon or islands as we pass.
  15. Here's some pics we got of the damage before and after the repairs were started. We never saw it atfer they were completed as we debarked on the opposite side of the ship...we have more on our cameras, but haven't downloaded them yet - we took these with our cellphones...
  16. Huh, don't know why it is listed as the 15th...it has always been the following week....wish it was the 15th!!!
  17. Thanks everyone...wish I didn't still have a week before we leave. At this time next week, we should be winging our way to Ft. Lauderdale!!!
  18. Larry, the planning is half the fun....enjoy it.
  19. Josh, welcome to the friendliest ship afloat. Hope to see you hanging out with us often.

  20. Ray, wishing you and Yuki the best cruise ever. Hope you unwind and recharge your batteries after the busy schedule you have been keeping. Your humor will be missed on the Dock....guess Kevin will have to work overtime to keep us entertained.
  21. Larry, you don't have to have a cuise scheduled to post....I love reading yours posts, so keep 'em coming, cruise or not.
  22. Martin, welcome to CC...so glad you joined us here. I see you went to Grand Cayman on this cruise....it is one of my favorite ports. We have been on 14 or 15 cruise, I can't remember which. The last one was about 7 weeks ago and we leave in 37 days to fly to Ft. Lauderdale to board a ship for St. Maarten, St. Kitts, and St. Lucia.

  23. Arvids, hope you have a wonderful cruise. I have a feeling that it is a party, no matter where you are!!!
  24. Ellie, hope you and Frank are having a great cruise. You are missed on the Dock...
  25. I looked at the official website for the airport and went thru the lists of all shops. The only thing I saw was "Broward Duty Free" in terminals 2, 3, & 4. I know you can't buy duty-free unless you are flying internationally, so not sure if they would let you buy in there and just pay the tax...they list that they have wine. Maybe you can find out if you can buy there as you are deplaning. Hope this helps...
