  1. Good morning Mary Lou. You have already been a busy lady this morning. I haven't done anything all night long except sit on my butt and watch tv I did look out a couple of hrs. ago and saw that the ground was white and it was still snowing....took me by surprise as the meterologists here didn't mention anything about that. I think I will take your advice and go to bed soon...

  2. Hello Crazies. Took Gregory and Scotty to Al's Formal Wear for tux measuring today, then we went to lunch, then to Borders so Noni could buy the munchkin a new book - the kid loves to read and he made sure to let me know that he only has 4 pages left in the one he is reading.

Jackie, I am doing my patio decor in black, gray, white and red, to match our house which is gray, with red brick, white trim, black shutters and a red front door. Next week, I will have contractors out to give me a quote on building a pergola over the patio area, which would be painted white.

Rose, I have no idea on what color I will wear for the wedding. Probably a beige or taupe. The bridesmaids gowns are purple, as are the guys ties and pocket handerchiefs. They are not wearing cumberbunds as Chris doesn't like the bow ties so they are wearing long ties. Chris will have a purple vest and purple cufflinks with his. Almost every dress I have found that I like is black and I don't know how Jessica would feel about that. I did find 2 I liked that were different shades of purple - one was eggplant and one was lavender but she doesn't want the mothers in the wedding colors. I think I will sit down and talk to her this weekend while we are in Kansas City, and see just exactly what she wants.

Ray, I used to love "While You Were Out". I watch a lot of shows on HGTV and DIY....Greg wishes i wouldn't as I am always getting new ideas, which means work for him!!!

Can't remember if I posted it or not, but we bought a tree on Saturday and planted it where the pond used to be....a peach tree. Wonder how many years it takes before it bears fruit? I built a retaining wall yesterday from the landscaping stones that were all around the pond. My arms and back are letting me know about it today.

I have been in touch with Ed, he and Roe are fine...just very busy.

  3. Hey Crazies. Greg and I are just watching a movie and he paused it to tend to the hounds so thought I would check in. Mary Lou, how wonderful that you did not have to make a trip to Deb's during the night. I had to laugh - I too, have offered Scotty money for a few minutes peace and quiet....he loves money so much that he takes it seriously and always gets the pay out - in my opinion, he and I are both winners.

Worked on the back yard today. Last week, Greg had dug up and pulled out the fish pond - had become more trouble than it was worth. Today we went and bought a peach tree and planted it in the hole. Also found an outdoor area rug and bought it, and painted some planters to go with my new "outdoors decor". I told him a few days ago that I wanted to get rid of the arbor back there, it was 10 years old and really showing signs of wear. When I got up at 8:30 this morning and went outside to see what he was doing, I saw a big pile of firewood - used to be the arbor...that made me happy. I decided today that I want a fire pit, so looking for one I like.

Martha, yes the fact that we are 6 weeks away from the big day could be keeping me up at night. When I do lay down, I go thru lists in my mind. I still have not found a dress for the wedding, not for lack of trying. I did buy a new dress for the rehearsal dinner, but need a floor length gown for the wedding and I have been everywhere I can think of to no avail. Penney's said that with prom season coming, they should be getting some in soon but I can't wait too long. We are going to Kansas CIty next week, so thought I might look there.

Well, Greg is back, so time for the movie again....

  4. Hello Crazies...late check in. I was home all day but very busy. It is still a little over 10 months until we fly to Florida for our next cruise, but we booked a private beach cabana on Half Moon Cay for the trip this evening. We had to pay for it in advance, but we wanted to get our reservation in as soon as they opened up and not take a chance on not getting one as there are only about 8-10 of them on the island, according to Carnival's map. You pay when you make the reservation and then you go to the desk when you board the ship, and you pick which cabana you want and since sodas, water, snacks, fruit, etc. are included in the price, you put in your preferences then. I think I will be able to get the very one I want as one of the Troublemaker couples are renewing their vows onboard the ship and since the ceremony is scheduled to occur before we sail, the "wedding party" and guests get to board before everyone else. We have to be at the pier by 10:00. a.m. so it is my plan to go pick my cabana as soon as we board.

I have errands to run tomorrow - my mother-in-law is going to run me ragged. She keeps sending me for things for the wedding...mainly gifts from her relatives in Missouri who won't be able to attend but they keep sending her money to do the shopping for their gifts for Chris and Jessica's wedding and since they are flying, she tells me what to go get. She called me today and said she had put something on hold at Bed Bath and Beyond today and told them I would be there tomorrow - so guess I will be!!! Then she told me to go buy Greg's birthday present since it falls when they are here for the wedding. I better get paid back for all this shopping. A "would you please" would be nice, but I don't see that happening.

Falina, hope you are feeling better quickly.

    CONGRATS MARTHA!!! That is awesome.

  5. Hello Crazies. I stayed home all day and got things done around here...finished sewing basket liners for the laundry room (to match the curtains I made in there), did all the laundry, booked a cleaning service to come in the day before the houseguests start arriving for the wedding - well worth the $307 they quoted me, to have someone else scrub all the tubs, showers, toilets, baseboards, change the sheets on all the beds, etc. They will even remove and clean out all the light fixtures. With 12 houseguests - 4 of whom are ages 1,2,3 & 4, I may need them to come back once everyone leaves!!! We ordered a new sectional L-shaped seating arrangement for the patio and I have been looking for an 8 x 10 outdoor area rug to go with it but haven't found anything that I really care for yet, so I guess my search for that will contine - just tired of looking at rugs online so am taking a break and thought I would check in...

  6. Good morning Crazies....going to bed at 4:00 and getting up at 7:00 is for the birds - wish I would stop doing it!!! Going shopping today - we are going to Kansas City next week and I want to take Chris and Jessica's wedding presents with us so they don't have to haul them back after the wedding. Off to buy a Keurig coffeemaker, coffee pods and the pod holder today. Then will pop over to Macy's and pick up a few things off her registry there. I am supposed to have my motorcycle rider safety course this weekend, but am waiting for them to open in about 9 mins. so I can call and reschedule for a later date. They are calling for snow on Saturday and I don't want to have to ride up there and then take the class in the snow, so will move it to June, when the chance of the white stuff has passed. Hope you all have a good day....

  7. Hello Crazies. Greg and I did a charity ride in the form of a poker run with our HOG group today. I rode farther than I ever have on my trike. We rode for 7 hours, stopping at 5 different Irish pubs. My body is really feeling it now. Tomorrow is supposed to be another gorgeous day, but I dpn't foresee myself getting back on that thing anytime soon. We got to go to dinner last night with Chris - Jessica ended up going out with her bridesmaids. The plan was for them to leave this morning to head back to Kansas City....I am thinking they left VERY EARLY this morning as I got a text from him at 11:20 a.m. that they were home and it is a little over 600 miles. Next weekend, I have a 2 day, all day rider safety course. I am not looking forward to it, but it will give me my motorcycle endorsement on my license.

Steve, I know that saying goodbye to our loved ones is never easy, but just remember all the joy that Gramps brought into your life. He certainly brought a smile to our faces, with his shennanigans and we didn't even know him...

  8. Another one of those crappy sleep nights....or should I say "no sleep" nights. It has been very warm here the past 2 days...Wed. it got up to 75 degrees and yesterday it was in the 60's but it is snowing now. Not expected to be much of a big deal - they said a few inches on the grass that would be gone by afternoon. Tomorrow is our HOG group's St. Patrick's Poker Run and Ride - it will be a cold ride in the morning but it supposed to warm up to 60, so should be fun and we hope to raise lots of money for charity.

I think there will have to be some napping going on today as we are having dinner with Chris tonight before he heads back to KC in the morning. I am still doing some heavy duty "spring cleaning" - I have another big box of stuff to go to charity and I'm not stopping there. Greg brought up some furniture from the basement the other day and we took it and there is more to follow. We can't give our old stuff to the kids because they have better stuff than us. Last month, we bought a new 55" LCD/LED HD 3D flat panel tv with wireless internet. We had a 57" inch tv that we bought about 4 years ago and it had a huge oak entertainment center that took up the whole wall - the kids laughed when we asked them if they wanted it...they said NO ONE would want it. We did end up giving it to a ranch for disabled children, and even though both were in excellent condition, I called a lot of charities before I found one that would take it. Our HOA sponsors a community garage sale every spring...we never participate but I do haul stuff out to the end of the driveway and put a free sign on it. There are so many people driving all thru the neighborhood that day as they advertise it very well, and you wouldn't believe the junk that people will take if it is free. I don't think anything lasts more than 30 minutes or so. I will have to check and see when they are having that so I get rid of more stuff.

Well, if I am not going to sleep, I may as well get some housework done - doesn't everyone do laundry at 2:30 in the morning???

  9. Good morning Crazies. Happy St. Patricks Day to you all. We are having cabbage tonight, but since we don't like corned beef, I am making baby back ribs. Well, Kevin certainly has a gorgeous day for travelling - it is sunny and heading to the 70's. Looks like a good day to get out and enjoy it but I am going to stay home and get some things done around here.

  10. Cheryl - I probably won't get to see David for his birthday for another month but then I will have 7 wonderful days with both my kids and all my grandkids on the Enchantment of the Seas and that will be worth the wait. I am so looking forward to this cruise. Only Ashleigh has cruised before so I will get a whole new prespective on Cruising through the eyes of Paige, Colin and TJ - despite the fact that TJ keeps telling us "If you make me get on that great big boat the first thing I will do is throw up!!!" I'm sure he will be just fine.

TJ sounds like he is quite the character. Would love to see pics of his face once he boards that ship...there is so much to see and do, hopefully all thoughts of throwing up will be pushed out of his mind!!! How awesome to have your whole family around you on a cruise - I hope to do that someday.

  11. Good morning Crazies...Mary Lou, I was definitely a member of that club last night....went to bed around 4:00 a.m. and was awake before 7:00.

Steve, I hope you and Lynda are able to get the damage taken care of quickly...too bad it won't be before your guests arrive but I am sure they will understand. I am just waiting on Chris to come pick up his dad's truck, trailer and his motorcycle and then I have to go to Weight Watchers and to run some errand.

Mary Lou, wishing your firstborn, a wonderful birthday. When will you see him to celebrate? With Chris moving to KC, this will be the first time I haven't been with my kids on their birthday - I guess like a lot of things, it will take some getting used to, but I am putting a positive spin on it and not going to be one of those moms who wants to keep their kids with them all the time. They have to go out and make their own way in the world and even though I would prefer it was in the same city, it isn't, and that is okay - he is doing what he needs to do to insure his future and his career. I see too many women try to stifle their children's future - you have to know when to let go. Hopefully you will see him, Collin and Paige soon.

Kevin, shouldn't you be packing or something? Rose, how wonderful that you will all be surprised at the birth of the baby. We were surprised with our first, but with the next one, we already knew it was a boy. Are you going to be in the delivery room?

  12. Good morning Crazies. I have an extensive list of errands to run today, but am having trouble kicking the groggies. I don't work so don't have to get up at a certain time but like Rose, I think the time change is really messing with me - just haven't been able to get myself moving the last few mornings. It is supposed to be in the 60's today but is only in the low 40's now so I was trying to wait until it warmed up a bit so I could go with shorts and flip flops but think I will have to suck it up and wear big girl pants. Have to go to the bank, Ulta, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, the post office, Penney's and WalMart.

JIm, it must be a certain kind of wood or something that does that, as I am having the same issue with my closet. Rose, does Cynthia know whether she is having a boy or a girl? Well, better force myself to get up off this couch and do my hair and makeup and get outta' here - hope you all have a great day.

  13. Good morning Crazies...nothing exciting on the agenda today - just a day of cleaning out crap. Last week, I went thru all my kitchen cabinets and the pantry and did a massive weeding out. I was so tired of having this big house and absolutely no where to put anything. I got rid of 2 sets of dishes, pots and pans, my electric meat slicer, breadmaker, a stand mixer and lots of other stuff. If I hadn't used it in the last year, it went. We took 4 big boxes of stuff to the ARC, as well as all the "appliances". It felt so good to have all the freed up cabinet space that I am doing a room to room sweep this week. We will have 12 houseguests (8 adults and 4 children) starting 2 days before the wedding until 2 days afterwards and I just need more room, so off to work on that!!!

  14. Hello Crazies...it has been a while. I am going to try to be better about stopping by. I have been INCREDIBLY busy. We are now about 8 weeks away from our youngest son's wedding. At the end of January, Greg and I went on a cruise with the Troublemakers. As soon as our plane landed back home, before we even claimed our luggage, Chris called and told me had something to tell us that we weren't going to like....not something mom wants to hear. He had been promoted to a directorship in his corporation. At 28, he is the youngest Director they have ever had. The CEO of the corporation personally requested Chris - said he had been watching him for several years. It is an awesome honor and opportunity for him, but the title requires him to be located in the Kansas City office, and he had to go immediately. We found out Saturday night and had to say goodbye Sunday morning. He knew earlier in the week, but did not want to tell us while we were on the cruise. His fiance', Jessica is in upper level management with the same corporation and as part of his deal, they were going to move her to the KC office in the same position. He has been there 6 weeks, and has already bought a house - just closed on Thursday, on this 4000 sq. ft.house:

    Chrisshouse.jpg

Housing there is about 1/2 what it is here, so his salary went up by about 50% and his cost of housing went down by that much...he is pretty stoked about that. We are very proud of what he has accomplished.....those 7 years of college we paid for, are paying off - for him, anyway. He will be back here this week, to meet the movers who are packing up and taking the things from his condo, back to Kansas City. Then Greg and I are going up there in a few weeks. It is hard for me as I have never lived away from my kids but I am sure I will adjust in time.

I haven't had a chance to read back and see what all you peeps are up to yet, but hope to get to that soon!!!

  15. Quick pop in before I head upstairs...I took a sleeping pill a bit ago. I hate taking them but we have to be up early tomorrow for our Santa Sleigh Run with our HOG group so I cannot be awake all night like I normally am. Hope all you Crazies have a wonderful weekend.

  16. Rose, congrats on the awesome news. You are in for the greatest experience of your life. When I had my sons, I could not imagine loving anyone more than I did those 2, but when Scotty came along, it was a whole new ballgame. I can't say that i love him more, it is just on a different level. I can't explain it, but I would venture to say that every grandparent here understands what I am talking about.

  17. Kevin, I hear ya' buddy!!!! This is just bone chillin'. I did not venture out yesterday as the wind made is just too cold to handle but have to go run errands today. The sun is very deceiving. When I was shopping last week, I came upon a great deal on some of those Ugg muckluck type boots....I have always thought they were truly ugly but decided to give them a try. I love them as they keep my feet warm which is a major feat for our winters. I will definitely be wearing them when I go out today.

  18. Jackie, our older son is also engaged and there will be a big wedding. I told him that I didn't think that was appropriate as this isn't his first time to the dance, but Michelle has never been married and she wants all the glitz and glamour and as my son says, this day is all about her. Prayers coming at your friends too, Martha.

  19. Mary Lou, that is awesome news about TJ - I am so glad that he doesn't have to be poked and prodded for 6 months and I am sure he is thrilled about that. I understand about the name thing...Scotty's real name is Gregory Scott Fuller III - his kindergarten teacher refused to call him Scotty and always called him Gregory and he was so confused. From the first grade on, all his teachers have called him Scotty.

Tim, prayers going out for Laura. I have been really busy - there was quite a length of time that I could not get logged in here and finally stopped trying. I am in the process of planning 2 rehearsal dinners and 2 weddings, the HOG holiday party and 3 charity events for our Harley Owners Group. We are cruising in 7 1/2 weeks, with several trips (and 2 sons weddings) in the works when we get home. I just finished a bedroom remodel last month and am already working on my next project, so haven't been idle. At the end of August, Greg surprised me with my own 2011 Harley Davidson Tri-Glida (trike) and I have been learning to ride it - I ride it all around here, but yesterday Greg convinced me that I was finally ready for heavy traffic, so off we went. I am having a ball on that thing!!!
