  1. Hubby has a fairly stressful job and I mainly look forward to the fact that he can fully relax and not think about the office. His blackberry won't work while cruising so the office can't bother him and he loves cruising, sightseeing and snorkeling so much, after a day or so, he becomes completely relaxed. I know how hard he works to support me and our lifestyle and I look forward to seeing that look come across his face that tells me he has set the office aside for the time being.
  2. Jr., glad to have you aboard. We certainly enjoy your FIL and look forward to getting to know you better. You said you only post from 9-5, gee, does that mean that you are spending time at the best forum afloat while at work????
  3. Sue, glad you had a wonderful time and made it home safely. we missed you around here.
  4. Hope you have a wonderful (and romantic) trip. Bon Voyage
  5. Andrew - congrats on receiving the docs. I just love seeing that package appear in the mailbox. Cruising on the Conuest next year, so will be anxious to hear your impressions of the itinerary and the ship.
  6. Doesn't getting the docs make the trip finally seem real???? Congrats...
  7. Joey, when we were in Nice, we went to the coliseum. It isn't as big as the one in Rome, but was fascinating, none the less. To stand where ancient games (both good and bad) had taken place thousand of years before was a strange feeling. We rented a car and drove to Monaco, and Monte Carlo. It wasn't very far at all.
  8. Rose, hope you have a marvelous, romantic anniversary cruise. Bon Voyage!!!!

  10. Jackie, I agree that Seaport Village is a great little place. I always have to make a stop there - can't remember the name of the store offhand, but it is for left-handed people. Both of my kids are left-handed and they have things like spiral notebooks for leftie's, with the wire on the right hand side and lots of other neat gizmo's and gadgets.
  11. Susiecruiser - welcome to our great big crazy family. I look forward to reading your posts.

  19. We were in Barbados for the first time on our cruise last year and I was really unimpressed with the city. There was very little touisty shopping places and I thought the town was dirty. We actually ended up buying our souvenirs at the few outside booths at the port because we found nothing in town. Others we spoke to on the ship felt the same - wonder if that has anything to do with the drop in cruise travel to there??
  20. Joey, that's a given. If one isn't crazy when they join this forum, it won't be long......
  21. Got this email from a dear friend this morning - it brought a smile to my face - hope it does the same for you..... Two elderly women were eating breakfast in a restaurant one morning. Ethel noticed something funny about Mabel's ear and she said, '"Mabel, do you know you've got a suppository in your left ear?" Mabel answered, "I have a suppository in my ear?" She pulled it out and stared at it. Then she said, "Ethel, I'm glad you saw this thing. Now I think I know where to find my hearing aid." ************************************************* An elderly couple were on a cruise and it was really stormy. They were standing on the back of the boat watching the moon, when a wave came up and washed the old woman overboard. They searched for days and couldn't find her, so the captain sent the old man back to shore with the promise that he would notify him as soon as they found something. Three weeks went by and finally the old man got a fax from the boat. It read: "Sir, sorry to inform you, we found your wife dead at the bottom of the ocean. We hauled her up to the deck and attached to her butt was an oyster and in it was a pearl worth $50,000 . please advise." The old man faxed back: "Send me the pearl and re-bait the trap." **************************************************** A funeral service is being held for a woman who has just passed away. At the end of the service, the pall bearers are carrying the casket out when they accidentally bump into a wall, jarring the casket . They hear a faint moan. They open the casket and find that the woman is actually alive! She lives for ten more years, and then dies. Once again, a ceremony is held, and at the end of it, the pall bearers are again carrying out the casket. As they carry the casket towards the door, the husband cries out, "Watch that wall!" ******************************************************* When I went to lunch today, I noticed an old lady sitting on a park bench sobbing her eyes out. I stopped and asked her what was wrong. She said, "I have a 22 year old husband at home. He makes love to me every morning and then gets up and makes me pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and freshly ground coffee." I said, "Well, then why are you crying?" She said, "He makes me homemade soup for lunch and my favorite brownies and then makes love to me for half the afternoon. I said, "Well, why are you crying?" She said, "For dinner he makes me a gourmet meal with wine and my favorite dessert and then makes love to me until 2:00 a.m." I said, "Well, why in the world would you be crying?" She said, "I can't remember where I live!" ******************************************************* Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to meeting a few times a week to play cards. One day they were playing cards when one looked at the other and said, "Now don't get mad at me....I know we've been friends for a long time.....but I just can't think of your name! I've thought and thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me what your name is." Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared at her. Finally she said, "How soon do you need to know?" ******************************************************** THE SENILITY PRAYER Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the difference. ******************************************************* Now, I think you're supposed to send this to 5 or 6, maybe 10. oh hell, send it to a bunch of your friends if you can remember who they are. Then something is supposed to happen . . . . I think. Now that this has posted, I realize it is in the wrong section, meant to put it in general discussion. I cannot figure out how to move it, so if anyone knows how, please feel free to do so....
  22. Howard, how wonderful that your lovely wife will get to spend Mother's Day (May 13) at sea. We always book ours well in advance also and I find the planning stages to be so much fun. I do research on each and every port and print out everything we would like to see and also info about the town and put it in my travel folder. Hubby doesn't get into all the planning, just wants to go, see and have fun.
  23. rwams, welcome aboard. We all look forward to getting to know you thru your posts. This is a wonderful place to be....
  24. Happy sailing - hope you have a marvelous trip
  25. Every cruise we have ever taken has been on Carnival. We book them thru "Cruises Only" and we pay a deposit of $500 for the 2 of us. The balance then has to be paid 75 days before sailing. You can pay it a little at a time or not make a single payment until that due date and pay it all. The deposit is $250 per person, so of course we paid a higher deposit when the kids were younger and went with us. Of course, the deposit is subtracted from the amount of the cruise.
