  1. Description Here is a simple recipe from the U.K. I'm sure many of the Crazies know this as Cheese on Toast. Well not quite! It's called Welsh Rarebit. BY ELFED Ingredients Turn oven on to broil with a rack one down from the top. 4 slices of your favourite bread with crusts cut off. 6 to 8 oz. real cheddar or strong cheese (not cheese slices) 1 teaspoon of English or hot mustard. 1/2 teaspoon of crushed garlic. 1 medium onion. 4 tablespoons of beer-yes beer! Steps Dice the onion into small pieces and brown in a small frying pan. Set aside. Grater the cheese into a mixing bowl, add the onions, mustard, garlic and beer.Combine all ingredients and make into a paste. (It must not be runny) Toast the bread. You can butter the toast if you wish. Spread the paste thickly over the entire piece of toast. Put the toast onto a shallow oven pan and place in oven on the rack. It will take perhaps 2 minutes or less for the cheese to start turning brown so keep an eye on it!.When nicely brown all over it is done!! Enjoy with a glass of your favourite red wine Regards, James
  2. Evening All! Cool in NS today as expected. I have written a very short review of the Nov: 9th Cruise. A little blunt and only MY opinion which Donna did not always agree with!! Her review will follow over the next few days along with some of the photos she took. The cast is now off my wrist but it is still very sensitive and swollen. I have to do a ton of physiotherapy to get the wrist to work again properly. Grrr more pain and aggro!! Regards, James.

  6. John, sorry to hear about your fall and cracked ribs. But I'll trade yer!! Take my arm/wrist and now painful peeling skin from the thumb and first two fingers of the cast arm. You take that and I'll have your ribs!!!!!! God willing see you on Sunday. Regards, James.

  8. 'Morning everyone from a cold Wintery Nova Scotia where it is just 38 degrees. Have a neighbor coming over today to try and help me install some roof supports for our outdoor screenroom. Apparently when a lot of snow has fallen this corrugated sheet roof can collapse! Don't know how we can do it together with me and my "one" arm but we'll try. There may be a big storm whilst we are away-who knows? So I'd rather be safe than sorry. Have a good day all. Regards, James.
  9. Well it's down to the nitty gritty now folks! Looking forward to meeting everyone on Sunday despite this wretched cast!!!! Safe flight for all who are arriving by air. Regards, James.
  10. Packing one handed is a first for me!!! Must have put on a few pounds since our last cruise last May as nothing seems to fit! Sadly I won't be bringing my tuxedo for the reason just mentioned. Once we get back and this wretched cast is off, it's back into the gym for sure. Donna has put together a delightful little trinket package for each couple and the two single ladies with us. Hopefully y'all will be pleased with her efforts!!!!! Regards, James.

  12. Good day all from, for a change, sunny Nova Scotia!!! Hard to believe this time next week,God Willing, we shall be aboard the Celebrity Constellation in Miami. In the meantime it's clearing things up here, packing, going to various appointments etc etc. And hopefully this annoying cast on my arm will get a little looser!!! Have a great day everyone. Regards, James.

  14. To the strains of some Island music Donna has on her CD player, I say good afternoon everyone!! Clocks were put back one hour last night and it's almost dark now at 5 p.m. I've yet to try my holiday clothes on but for sure will try and buy a couple of short sleeve dress shirts. This is because of my cast as most long sleeved shirts will not fit over the arm. Donna has a nice selection of clothes after spending the morning trying everything on!!! Must admit my normal enthusiasm for this cruise is not what it should be. I'm hoping to "buck up" so to speak nearer the weekend. Regards, James.
