  1. I exchanged a couple dollars for some peso's while in mexico. I left the peso's on the counter in the cabin and the room steward took them. I did not make any effort to get them back. I figured he thought I was leaving them for a tip. I should have known better. But heck it was 2 dollars...I am going back in 10 weeks to find my peso's...lol.
  2. I would like to thank you for taking the time to write this long story. I enjoyed reading it and I realize it took alot of your time to do this for us.
  3. One of ships had to practice the turnaround manuever while at sea as a practice exercise, but no body has ever fell off the ship. I have got to wonder about these people who fall off the cruise ship. I think there has to be some foul play involved. You just dont fall off the ship.
  4. Dont forget us lower class passengers still stuck in the interior cabins..lol.
  5. I like the overall atmosphere of the cruise. It seems everyone is there for the same reaon. Just to have fun..
  6. Well we live a hour drive from the casinos in MS. We will visit them about once a year, so after starting this thread I decided to make my annual trip. I took 50 dollars to gamble with and ended up loosing 15 dollars. I just could not force myself to give my money away. We opted to eat a nice meal and went home..So overall we had a nice little afternoon outing. I may do more gaming on the ship, but I really want to take in the free gambling lessons dealing with the craps table.
  7. For me it would also be seeing the ship for the first time. Pictures just does not compare to the actual size of these ships. The conquest will be the largest ship I have been on so far.
  8. Margarittavile Kenny Chesney...Sun tanned toes tickling the sand.. It's 5 o'clock somewhere.
  9. Smb...you are not going to leave us hanging on the remainder of your story are you...Not trying to rush you, but hurry up every chance you get....lol.
  10. Cool a wave pool...I have seen the pools do that before..they closed them down on us though.
  11. A couple questions for people who has used it. First is there a way to find out my flight information before the final documents are mailed? Second, Do they send you paper tickets for the airlines or is it a e ticket. Third, Does Carnival favor a particular airline or utilize all airlines to fill there needs. And last, Anybody know where the shuttle will be located at the houston airport. Thanks. ps...promise not to start any more new topics today..lol Somebody else can take over.
  12. Alaska and Hawaii are on my to do list....And might as well add Panama Canal.
  13. Here is my story. I believe we was on the Jubilee. We started off with smooth seas but I was concerned because there was a hurricane in the gulf. Carnival did not cancel our cruise, but just opted to steer around the hurricane. The closer we got to the hurricane the taller the waves got. The first thing I noticed that told me things was going to be getting interested was barf bags. They started placing them in random spots all over the ship. They was next to the elevators, several where taped to the walls down the hallways. I walked out of one of the outside decks to observe the weather. The sky had turned a dark green color. The wind was blowing very hard and gusty. I heard a noise and turned to look. Here comes a deck chair from the floor above me. The wind picked up the chair and threw it over the railing and it landed a deck down..The one I was standing on...it landed about 10 feet from me. The crew also seen this and they started hollering for everyone to get inside. They secured all loose items and we spent the rest of the afternoon indoors. While in the dinning room that night you could hear dishes falling off of shelves. And that night it almost rolled me out of bed. Strange thing was I was not scared during all of this. But I am a weather nut and enjoyed getting to see something like this. The captain did announce that we was not going thru the hurricane. He said we was a safe distance away from it, that we where just experiencing some of the outer rain bands..
  14. How many of us frequent the casinos while on board. I have on occasion, but I am not a big gambler. I would rather use my money at the lido bar....grin. But was curious how many you have done well in the casinos, ever played the black jack or slot tournaments. Can someone shed some light on how the tournaments work. I have never played niether one of them. One more question. On the days they offer the free gaming classes. While taking the classes are you gambling while "learning" the game or is it just a informative type class.
  15. Okay, I would say this story tops mine...I would never have went to the pursors desk looking for my underwear...lol.
  16. Thanks for the replies, I was amazed at the amount of people who do skip them. I have heard it stated before that these ships are gettins such large numbers of past guest cruisers they are getting overcrowded. Maybe they need to step up the criteria or have a second party. One for past guest, and then a seperate one for guest who has 5 cruises behind them.
  17. So what do you think of them. Do you attend them or skip them. They are a highlight of my cruise. I like the free drinks and food they pass around. But then again Im kinda cheap like that. I am talking about Carnival, Im not real sure if other cruise lines offer them or not. I am not well rounded on other cruise lines so I am open to hear about them also.
  18. Oh this is a no brainer for me....It would have to be Jimmy Buffet and Kenny Chesney...Cant beat the original Margartiville and some sun tanned toes tickling the sand.
  19. How does she permanently stay on the ship. Does she just keep rebooking cruise after cruise or did she come up with some sort of monthly payment to live there...This a wild story.
  20. I am with you on that one. Once on the ship I am happy. It is the wait that kills me.
  21. So far the Western Carribean, but I hope to do a southern Carribean one day. I have been to the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Cozumel..So far Cozumel has been my favorite.
  22. I went on my first cruise in 2000. The thing that sparked my interest was on a family trip to New Orleans while I was still living at home with the parents. I saw one of the large cruise ships and thought how fun that would be. I wanted to cruise not for the destinations, but just for the chance to actually ride on ship that was so huge. For me my first cruise was in my mid twenties
  23. No she never did find her teeth. They said the amount of linens that was watched was huge and they would make a note about it in case they where found. Last I heard they was never recovered. I figure they ended up going in the trash instead of the laundry.
  24. Welcome to the boards...I have only been here a day myself..
  25. I am sure we all have had some sort of experiences on the ship that sticks out as a funniest moment. Either something we saw or had happen to us. So lets here about them. I will start off We took a friend with us on one of our cruises. She was so excited because she just recieved set of dentures a week before the cruise. Since she was still adjusting to them she politely took them out and wrapped them in her dinner napkin because her gums where sore. Well she forgot them laying on the table. She realised this 5 minutes after leaving the table. Needless to say they had already cleared the table when she got back there. She went to the pursors desk and checked in the lost and found. The funny part was when they asked her what she lost...She had to say I lost my teeth during dinner..I cant find them anywhere. Not funny for her due to the amount dentures cost, but the look on the pursor employees was priceless..
