  1. Yay! I hope the Ecstasy will be next! Or at least soon! It would be nice to sail her again from Galveston
  2. Yay!! Glad you got it done! no worries!
  3. My DH bought his suit at JCPenny's, we didn't spend a lot on it. I did a search for you and there are a few Burlington Coat Factories by you, here is the adress of the closest one: BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY WHSE 6600 MIDDLE FISKVILLE ROAD AUSTIN, TX 78752-4315 Hours:M-Sat 10am-9pm, Sun 11am-7pm Phone:(512) 452-4252 They have a great deal of men's suits available. I think if you buy a nice suit, it would be more versatile, as he could wear it more than a tux? Also, if it costs too much money, then go with slacks and a couple of dress shirts with ties that compliment what you will be wearing, perfect for pics! Hope this helps :)
  4. No, we have not seen any kind of marine life while cruising. And YES we have seen other cruise ships while cruising, several times actually! I guess while cruising in the Gulf there are more opportunities(?)... Last time we were on the Ecstasy we passed another ship at night and it was a grand sight to see the ship all lit up. It was really very cool!
  5. I live an hour away from Galveston and although I do not know where you will be staying at exactly, I can tell you that you should be fine. I was thinking of taking a drive out there on Friday or Sat of next week, if so, I will try to see where this hotel is located and maybe take a pic for you. I have a coworker that lives in Galveston, and the bad "parts" aren't too bad IMO. I grew up in Los Angeles though so to me this isn't bad?
  6. We have only tried the early seating but our next one is late seating. Seems as if you have to cut activities short or rush to get to dinner on time with the early seating. we always tend to eat dinner in the dining room, we have never skipped to go to the Lido, it's one of the favorite parts of cruising we enjoy!
  7. We will be going to the falls in 2 days! Woohoo!!! I'm so excited (not as excited as I am for my Caribbean cruise though ). We will be going on the Maid of the Mist. We are also taking a train to Toronto for a day too, so Canada, here we come!
  8. Thanks for the recommendation! I have added that to my itinerary!
  9. I expected the ship to be rocking and rolling, but it wasn't.
  10. What a great review! Detailed and informative. My DH has no desire to go to Alaska, he says it's too cold, maybe one day we can go!
  11. I would definitly go, although DH might not like it. The one thing I really want to try is zipline, but DH and DS do not like heights. I guess I will have to find a way! teehee
  12. I have only visited 3 ports on the 2 cruises I have taken, but I enjoyed every one. We have been to Jamaica, and yes we were approched by locals, but our tour guide was wonderful and out of all of them, my experience in Jamaica was the best.
  13. We usually are inside, at the casino, playing bingo, or eating.
  14. [/size] When was your first cruise & where was it to? Our first cruise was on Carnival Conquest 7 -glorious days in the Western Caribbean. The only bad part was the waters were so rough we couldn't tender into Grand Cayman, so we missed that whole port. Carnival only gave us 50.00/OBC each. That was a bummer!
  15. We are always first off the ship, we like to beat the crowds... We have only cruised out of Galveston, which is only an hour away from home, so we hop in the vehicle and are homebound...
  16. Have a wonderful time and congrats on your 25th!!
  17. I think this is scary stuff.... I wish it didn't have to be scary but the reality is that we do live in dangerous world. I would like to think when I am on vacation, I can relax and not have to worry about things like that.
  18. WoW! Those photos are spectacular! thanks for sharing
  19. I'll let you know when I have cruised more than one cruise line...
