  1. Hey Joey, We have a limo picking us up at 10 am. Thought the limo would be a nice added touch for my son who only saw the inside of a stryker in Iraq for 15 months. I must say that I am pretty excited about the limo ride too. We are about 2 hours from the port at Bayonne. Carmen, Woluld it be OK if I copied your poem too? Thanks, Sheryl

  5. Hi all, It is cold and sunny up here in the mountains. We still have about 5 inches of snow around. Looks like we are getting a break for a day or two. I am concerned with the weather, here and in Seattle, on Tuesday. My son Jared and his family will be flying into the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport. I hope there are no delays or cancellations. Those of you who see your grandchildren all of the time are so lucky. I will get to see mine on Tuesday, all the way through Dec.28th. I can't wait. We are all cruising together so it should be winderful. Hope everyone who has been under the weather lately will feel better soon. Have a great day, Sheryl
  6. Good Monday morning all, Joey - Bon Voyage! Have a great trip. Mary Lou- We are aboout 1 hour north of Tannersville. I try to get there often too. We had about 4 inches of snow yesterday, then it started raining. Some of the snow has now melted but it is a bit icy. The temperature has risen so hopefully, more of it will melt. Most of my packing is done. Just need to do shoes today. That's always fun! Bye for now, Sheryl
  7. Jackie, I just spent the last hour in Africa with you. What an amazing, thrilling trip! How lucky you are to have been able to do this and have such wonderful memories. I have a question for you....do you live in your rv? Do you have a permanent home too? My husband Robert and I were once talking about doing that, selling our home and living in a mobile home. We could spend time in Seattle, where my son lives, in Florida for the winter, where we have family and back here in the NE so we can be with our other son and family in NY. I am about 3/4 done packing and we also wrapped Christmas presents today. All in all, a very productive day. Sheryl
  8. Good morning all, Happy December! Thanks for the welcome Jackie. I have only been on for about 2 weeks but I am not new to cruising. Will be going on number 10 in less than 2 weeks. Hooray! Would love to hear more about your South American journey. Must have been fabulous. Joey - Enjoy your day of football. Now if it was baseball and the Yankees were playing, I'd be watching too! LOL We are expecting snow here too. Did all of my shopping yesterday so we are ready to be holed up here for a while, if necessary. If need be, we do have the Ford Bronco 4x4 to get us out of here! Enjoy, Sheryl
  9. Hi all, Steve -we are going on RCCL's Explorer of the Seas 9 night to PR, DR, St. Thomas and Labadee. This is my 10th cruise but my son's second. He was 13 years old when he went on his first. Now he is going on as a husband, father and soldier. Just came back from doing more shopping and wound up getting a huge (48inch) wreath for the outside of the house. Robert is decorating it now and will get it up before the end of the day. Sheryl
  10. Hi all, Actually, my son is stationed in Fort Lewis, which is outside of Seattle. He lives in Lakewood, about 20 minutes away from the fort. Tomorrow he starts his well deserved vacation. This is the time off the Army is giving him for being in Iraq for a year and a half. He does not have to report back until January 6. 2 weeks from tomorrow and we all sail on the Explorer of the Seas for 9 days. Can't wait. Robert will bring up our suitcases today and the craziness of packing will begin! Later, Sheryl
  11. I would love to see more choices out of the NYC/NJ area. I'm waiting for the day when we can cruise to Cuba. Would love to go there. Hope to see it in my lifetime. Sheryl
  12. Good afternoon all, Mary Lou- All is well here. Just relaxing.... Good luck "not buying" more Christmas decorations! Joey - My daughter in law and older granddaughter lived with us from Jan.-Sept. while my son was in Iraq. DIL was pregnant with my baby gd. (Son came home on leave in Dec.) Then he came home for good in Sept. (hooray) and the baby was born here. They stayed for a few weeks and then returned to Seattle where he is stationed. I went to see them in October for a week. So it really hasn't been that long but it's hard being so far from them. SailingRose - My hubby loves to shop. Do you believe it? However, he doesn't love the crowds so this time of year he's not that thrilled about it. I can't believe that my house is all decorated (except for tree which we will do when son and family arrive) and all gifts are bought. Bye for now, Sheryl
  13. Hi all, Wow! So much going on around here. Everyone seems to have such busy lives. Right now, Robert and I are living a quiet existance. However, in 2 weeks, all that will change. My ds Jared, dil Keyana and granddaughters Destiny and Jelissa will arrive here from Seattle. That's when the "quiet" will end. Boy, I can't wait!! I miss them so much. So glad we will all be going on this cruise together. I am getting real excited about this cruise. Never been on the Explorer of the Seas. Heard great reviews. Oh, got to run. Robert and I are going out shopping now.... Good day to you all, Sheryl
  14. Hi all, Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. My meal came out quite good. We were all in a turkey coma for a while! We never made it to the stores at 5am this morning. I guess because we are not used to eating like we did yesterday, dhRobert and I did not sleep well. We woke up very often. Just couldn't drag ourselves out of bed! Robert started pulling up our Christmas decoratons today too. He has already put up some of the lights on the outside of our house. We will put up all of our decorations, both in and out, except for the tree. Since my Army son Jared and family will fly in to Pa. on Dec. 11th we will wait to decorate the tree with our granddaughters. Well, granddaughter, the baby is only 3 months old. Destiny, age 6 will love to help us decorate. So to all I say, enjoy the rest of your day. Sheryl
  15. Happy Thanksgiving to my new friends at Cruise Crazies. Enjoy! Sheryl
