  1. Yikes, Ray - and you were still able to enjoy your cruise!?  Keep us posted, please.

And I echo Miranda and Ray - Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all of us Cruise Crazies - may we all have a cruise in your near future and good health with which to enjoy it!!

Ours is 62 days and counting......

  2. Hello Crazies!  It is Sunday evening here and I just got back from a weekend with some friends.  We are a bridge foursome who have played together since our children were babies; my oldest is now 46 so that tells you how long we have been together.  But about 10 years ago one of them moved down to Texas so when she comes up it is for a long weekend at least!  (We also play online weekly on a bridge platform called BBO.)  We went to great restaurants, a very good musical and a wond4erful 75-year old independent bookstore...oh and also played 100 hands of bridge, lol!

Miranda - it is nice to hear from you.  I followed Jan and Dave's cruise on Facebook - seems like they had a great time....right, Jan?!    And so fun to have your next one in 82 days!  Our next one is 139 days...seems like forever!  You have to take advantage of those nice fall days - our last two have been in the 80s with more to come - the last gasp of Summer, I guess.

But I do have some weekends away coming up - and they are all in October!  In two weeks we have a family wedding in Minnesota...weekend after that is 4 days in St. Louis for an AAUW conference and the weekend after that is 4 days in Lake Junaluska, North Carolina at a cross stitch retreat with my eldest daughter.  Whew!  I think I will actually be happy to stay home for a while after that...plus...it will be holiday preparation time....ALREADY!

Let us know how everyone is doing, Jan, Ray, Jackie, and whoever else might be checking in!  And have a very nice October!

  3. Jackie - so good to hear from you but so very sorry to hear of your loss...again!  Words just cannot express enough, and I can only imagine, having two daughters myself, but just so very sorry.  You will be in my thoughts and sending hugs your way!

So nice that you have Africa to look forward to again - that is STILL on our bucket list!  And yup - it is getting to be that season of tax classes and tests, right?!  But I highly recommend you get a cruise on the books - it is good for the soul, lol.

Don't be a stranger - even if you just let us know you are doing okay!

  4. We are all newbies together!

Yes - I have been to Lahaina three times and I never tired of it...been to the Old Lahaina Luau - so glad I got to do it...strolled Front Street in both directions...sat under that big old banyan tree...I feel so bad for them.  And of course now the debate rages, even amongst the locals as to:  they need the tourism dollars...no - they need time to heal by themselves.  At any rate it is going to take quite a while to get back up and running in any semblance.  Our February cruise is supposed to stop on the other side in Kahului, but I'm not sure they will even be ready for us then.

Howdy Ray - how are things at the Coley house?

Jan - I'm sorry the weather wasn't so great for your week - at least you were all together.

Well....off to run a board meeting...bye for now!

  5. Happy Weekend!  Nice to see we can catch up here again.

Miranda - I'm glad you MOSTLY liked the Apex - I think she is a beautiful ship.  But...clearly some things were different and that's a shame.  When we sailed on her she was making her transatlantic crossing for the first time to the U.S., having sailed in the Greek Isles during Covid.  So the ship was maybe 60% full, if that.  It honestly felt like we had the ship to ourselves.  So we did not experience crowds anywhere and the food was really good and plentiful!  It seems like maybe at capacity the venues are not quite big enough.  We sure did experience that on the NCL Prima - most of the venues and especially the buffet were much too small to accommodate the ship population.  I am glad you liked the entertainment - we also thought it was top notch.

    Glad you escaped the weather!!

We sailed on the Infinity many moons ago - a 15-day full Panama Canal transit.  We like that class of Celebrity ships a lot - much smaller but just comfortable and cozy.  And how exciting to be sailing on the new Sun Princess!

We are back on the Enchanted Princess with the whole family next June.  I am so excited - this is the first time that we will all cruise together.  And of course, our big 35-day for just Ed and I on the Koningsdam in February!  But YES - then our group cruise - YAY!

Jan - the weather has been none too pleasant out  your way either....I know because we sent it to you, ha!  We have had an unusual number of tornadoes around us this summer.  Last count, we were at 15 for the area, and about 6 that came within a 1/2-mile of us!  We have been lucky and skirted by with no real damage but geez!

It is devastating to see what has happened on Maui, and Lahaina in particular!  We have strolled Front Street several times and relaxed under the historic banyan tree there... and we are due back in February but am thinking they will have to change that.

Yoohoo, Ray!  Hope you guys are doing well!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  6. Welcome Back, Miranda - glad you could find some bright spots on your cruise and of course, being with friends makes all the difference.  That does sound absolutely terrifying to be lost and have no help - I hope Marina has recovered from that fright!  We do have Israel on our list, and will take heed of your experiences!  I will be interested to see what KC thinks of the Prima...I had mixed feelings about it.  On the positive side, the staterooms are absolutely great!  I like sleek and modern and it certainly was...lots of room because of the way they arranged and furnished it.  And I wanted to dismantle the showerhead and take it home with me, lol!  But the ship itself....not so much.  The concept of many different venues and areas to congregate is great, but the venues and areas are way too small for the number of passengers.  The buffet is positively ridiculous, but we did find our niche in an outdoor covered area that had heaters overhead (great idea in Iceland!) that got us away from the crowded buffet area.  Their 24-hour venue is called The Local.  Nice big bar area and separate restaurant section and we ate many breakfasts and lunches there.  They also have a great outdoors area if the weather allows.  Entertainment was not that good aside from the Donna Summer Musical, which was fantastic.  Otherwise it was comedians...three or four of them...  We went to one...adults only...in the theater, but that only seats 750 and people were standing and sitting in the aisles and everywhere.  Tell KC that of the two MDRs, the Hudson is far superior in the space and the service.  The specialty restaurants were quite good.  BUT...enough of about the ship!  What the real news is....we hardly saw Iceland!   Akureyri was wonderful, and that is good, because we were there an extra day due to our stop in Isafjordur being cancelled.  There was some issue with the dock.  I have pictures of the snowmen the crew made on the deck...yes...we got snow on two different days!  And then, the wind was so bad and the seas were so rough that we could not make our way to Reykjavik, so we wobbled around the Denmark Strait and Arctic Ocean for another day, finally making our way south to reach Reykjavik at 4 am the morning of departure.    We were on Deck 14 and our balcony was wet from the swells and waves!  At least we did get our private tour that morning, before heading to the airport to fly home.  Jan can give you her take on things, too, but the result was....we decided to plan a trip to Iceland where we fly in and stay 4-5 days.  What we did see was gorgeous, though!

Miranda - We loved the Apex and hope you do too.  Definitely the public venues, entertainment and food are topnotch!

Jan - I hope you guys are doing ok...I'll let you tell about your take-home "gift"...and you probably have some different views about the ship...

We are not on another cruise until February, but am heading out on a road trip with our Grandson to South Dakota next Tuesday!  Hoping for a little bit of warmth after that adventurous trip to the Arctic, lol!

  7. Good Morning Crazies!  Checking in before heading downstate for a board meeting and conference.

RAY - SO good to hear from you.  My oh my what a year you had - I am so sorry!  But....yes - it is a new year and hopefully you have some great cruises ahead of you.  Watching our grandchildren grow and thrive is just the best thing in the world.  Our Lucas is turning 13 next week....aaagh...a teenager!  But luckily so far he is still the sweet towhead that loves to spend time with Nana and Papa.   He is loving his oboe and classical music, which I am thrilled about...  but his main passion is his art.  He has already placed in invitation-only art shows - has another one coming up next week - and is part of an art league in the area.  That is wonderful news about Baby Stella...but yikes - staying in the same condo?!  You are doing the sensitive thing - staying in a hotel and waiting for 'your turn'.  Good for you!  So sorry you had to miss your South America cruise - definitely you will want to get that in!

Miranda - I have a friend who just returned from Israel, and says that it is STILL the safest place in the world...I know they have tough security there.  What an exciting cruise and definitely want to hear about it when you return.

Jan - It's getting really close......I'm getting really excited! 🤩

So we are beginning the CEO search again.  We have a day of interviews on Thursday...and then will have to set up second interviews (hopefully some candidates will be worthy of that,) when we return.  But I only have basically a week between trips so it all has to fall into place perfectly!    Well...time to head downstate...will be back late tomorrow...have a great weekend, all!

  8. Hello CruiseCrazies!!   Miranda - your cruise on the Sun Princess sounds wonderful - I'm trying to figure out when I can get on that ship!  Alas, we cannot join you on that sailing - we will just have returned home from our 35--day South Pacific, but I can't wait to hear what you think of it.  AND....I am so looking forward to our cruise on the Equinox in August 2024 - can't wait to see you and everyone else who is joining us!  Meanwhile, our next cruises are getting close!

Jan - we are getting so close - and boy do I need this cruise!   And looking forward to seeing a bit of NYC - I have not been, can you believe that?!

You may recall I have been completely engulfed in this search for a new CEO for Mutual Ground since October!  Well, we thought we had it wrapped up, had a good candidate who signed the offer letter, and 4 hours before he was to meet the full Board last Monday for a ratification vote, he backed out!!  I could not believe it!!  Our current CEO's last day was Wednesday and here we are - having to start all over again to find her replacement.  I could just cry; I was hoping to go on this cruise with nothing to worry about.  Well...I'm NOT going to worry about it - I am going to set it aside and have a fabulous time in Iceland with two of our favorite people!!

But before that happens, we have Lucas' birthday to celebrate - he turns 13!  I can't believe he is a teenager already.  Thankfully he still loves being with Nana and Papa so we'll take what we can get for as long as we can!  And shortly after we return from Iceland, we are all headed to South Dakota on a road trip.  We used to take our girls there and they just loved it, so I know Lucas will too.  We don't spend much time at Mt. Rushmore (meh!)  But we do love the state parks, the wildlife, and the indigenous history and heritage.  It is a great trip.

Well - I think that's enough rambling for now - good to still have this place to connect with everyone!  Have a great weekend (what's left of it,) everyone!

  9. Yay - I'm so glad you like this cruise and I say the more the merrier - Peggy and Larry and KC and Martina we can invite Ray and Yuki!  That is........Jan - did you get Dave to approve?!

What is your next cruise, Miranda - I feel like it is coming up?

  10. Jan - We would love that overnight in Lisbon as well - we can go "out on the town", lol!    Miranda - what say you?!

If your Grandsons are anything like Lucas  they and you will love the Alaska cruise with them.  It was so fun to see Lucas excited about the whales, and the sea otters and even walking through the rainforest...to see the look on his face...he always had to be right up with the guide to catch every word and he just soaked everything up like a sponge.  I can't wait to cruise with him again.  And the Sapphire is one of my favorite ships.

In June of 2024 we will go to New Orleans.  We bid and got that trip from last year's Mutual Ground Gala and we have to use it, so June it will be.  But so far the only cruise we have that year is our 35-day Hawaii/South Pacific cruise in Feb/March .  Ha - I say only as if it is a regular weeklong cruise.

Glad the storm mostly missed you.  We "got" another on today.   A bit south of us got quite a bit but we didn't even get so much as a flake, ha!  And they had hyped this up all week!  Hopefully it will all peter out again for you too.

  11. Jan - I do like this one and the timing would be good for us!  I love Barcelona and we have never been to Portugal.  On the Equinox, right (not the Infinity?)  We did the Equinox for our Med cruise...great ship, but that itinerary was so busy that we didn't get a chance to enjoy the ship - this itinerary does give us some sea days to do that!

As far as the weather, I'm writing this as it is close to 50 degrees and we have had heavy heavy rain since about 3 this morning (when we were awoken by crashing thunder!)  Whereas I will take this any day over snow, I also don't want to see our house floating down the river, lol!  And...a tornado luckily skirted around us and hit Naperville - about 5 miles to our northeast.  Whew!  So if this is coming your way, and it turns into snow....yikes!

And I am so sorry you are still dealing with this...asthma episodes a couple of nights a week does not sound great...fingers crossed that your doctor is right!  And then will this stuff run into allergy season, etc?  Now is about the time of year when I get laryngitis and bronchial stuff.

Miranda - what do you think of Jan's option?

  12. Hey Miranda - thanks for checking on all of us.  A big storm is just leaving us here in the midwest.  Luckily we were on the southern end of it so we got a bit of ice but mostly rain...lots and lots of rain!  But just to our north many are still without power as the ice and wind brought down power lines and many trees.  We were very lucky.  There were tornadoes in the southern part of the state, but none near us.

But now I'm afraid it is heading Jan's way...Jan - keep us posted as to how you are doing!!

Hope all is good across the pond!

THIS ONE I would absolutely LOVE .... but in 2024 our cruise runs from 2/17 - 3/23...😬    Yes - keep the ideas coming!

Miranda - that sounds wonderful, but two things:  One would be that we will be on our 35-day South Pacific during this one 2024...which, of course, doesn't mean that the rest of you can't go.  Secondly, I am hoping that when you and I and Jan and whoever else wants to join us go south, it will include Antarctica!

What dos everyone think of this one?

  15. Jan - When we were on the Enchanted in December the room stewards were excellent and our room was cleaned twice a day; our pet peeve of having an ice bucket filled twice a day was fulfilled every single time!  You could tell that they were short-staffed in the bars and in the MDRs.  Sometimes we just went up to the bar and ordered instead of waiting for a server to come around.  As I think I mentioned earlier, the service in the MDRs were hit or miss.  Amalfi does better than Capri so I would recommend trying to stick with that one.  We did Capri twice and both times, even though we had a reservation, we had to wait in long lines and were not seated for about 30 minutes after our reservation.  And the dining service seemed to go slower than in Amalfi.  ALL of the specialty restaurants were amazing!  No issues with the service, food, etc. in those.  I hope Miranda has the same good service!

I can understand not wanting to book Disney.  I did do the Disney training a few years back but as you say, so much has changed!  We do know that we will have to get up at 7:00 to book lightening lanes unless they change that by September...just wishing they would go back to the Fast Pass Plus system that you could book ahead of time, even if they were to charge for that perk!

  16. Good Sunday Afternoon, Crazies!  Weather has finally moderated a bit here and........we see the sun!!  We did not see it for literally weeks - I think January went down as the cloudiest January in Chicago history - but it came out these past few days.  And...instead of being -16 and sunny, it is 39 and sunny 🤩.  Jan - I know you guys are in the deep freeze now...those wind chills are ridiculous on the east coast!!

Miranda - what a lineup of cruises!  We personally LOVE the infinite veranda - it makes the stateroom feel bigger and it allows for so many options!  If the weather is cold or raining, you can keep the window up but still feel like you are sitting on your balcony, and in the nice weather you can have the window down but not be bothered by loud neighbors or smoke drifting...you can shut the french doors/keep them open...so many options!   And I agree about NCL - I am not happy with how they are treating staff, especially after raising gratuities twice but then cutting staff, increasing their hours, etc.  And I still feel like they nickel and dime  you every which way.  We are looking forward to the Prima, and maybe I will change my mind, but very concerned about NCL.

Jan - So glad you are finally feeling better!  Everyone I know who has gotten that respiratory "thing" has had trouble getting over it.  Really looking forward to Iceland - we watched a couple of Jeff Corwin shows on Reykjavik and Akureyri - so interesting and so beautiful!

After that we were invited to go with Lucas and family on a road trip to South Dakota in June!  We did that trip with our girls twice when they were young and so now we will take Lucas.  That will be fun!  And then in September we are off to Disney.  We haven't been since 2017 so many many things we have not seen.  Not too thrilled with their new Genie+ system, and Heidi and family were there last March and said they are short-staffed and struggling with some things, but we'll see.  Jan - you have been there recently, right?  What was your impression?

And then we did end up booking a cruise for fall 🙄.  We shouldn't have, but saw a chance to check out the new HAL Rotterdam, so we booked a 9-nighter to the ABC's on Nov. 3.  Funny thing, though,....they have no shore excursions listed, and you can't book dining yet.  Hmmmm....🤔.   Of course our big one is coming up next February - our 35-dayer to the South Pacific.  But....am open to a group cruise whenever we can get together - we miss everyone as well!!

Enjoy what's left of the weekend, everyone!

  17. Happy New Year to Come, CruiseCrazies!

Jan - I am so sorry that you have been sick for the holidays!  Lots of yucky respiratory bugs going around here, too!  Luckily we have been healthy so far (knock on wood) and hope to celebrate New Years Eve at Heidi's house, playing games and eating lots of good food!  When you are ready we would do a good Southern Caribbean with you - we love those ports!

Miranda - So glad you had a great Christmas with Miranda on the Rotterdam!  I would like to get on that ship some time.  And the Apex is amazing - if that cruise was going above the Arctic Circle it would be perfect for us, but I know you and your friends will have a great cruise.  What a lineup you have for the new year!  We are down to two booked:  The Prima to Iceland in May with Jan and Dave, and the 35-day South Pacific on the Koningsdam in Feb. 2024.  We also are throwing a Disneyworld  vacation in there this September and possibly a family cruise later in 2024 (that is our 50th anniversary year so we want to do it up right, lol!)   But I already have the itch to book more cruises, lol!

Since we had that 10-day cruise in December I had to be real organized, getting almost everything done before we sailed.  Which was a good thing considering we came home the Monday before to the forecast of a big storm coming in on Thursday.  So I ran out and picked up the few remaining stocking stuffers I needed and hit the grocery store for the essentials plus all the baking and fudge-making supplies on Tuesday.  We ended up with less snow than predicted BUT the winds ran 40-50 miles per hour from Thursday straight through Saturday, with real temps of -10 and wind chills of -40.  And the snow that did fall was blowing around like a blizzard, making visibility practically zero.  Miranda knows I was worried about our furnace, which could not keep up...until I lowered the thermostat to try to give it a few breaks.  So we bundled up in the house and kept our fingers crossed that the old furnace would keep going...and it did!  It barely shut off for three days, and we slowly worked the thermostat back up to normal, but wowee - we didn't leave the house until Saturday afternoon to go to Heidi's for Christmas Eve.  BUT - after watching the horrific events taking place in Buffalo, I consider ourselves lucky!

And.......yesterday it was 57 degrees!!  So a "feels like" temperature swing of 90 degrees!  Crazy crazy weather!  Today we are back down to near normal, which means freezing, but nowhere near brutal like last week.  Jan - did you guys get any of that storm?

Well - best get at a few items of business to take care of...Ed's pension got sold to a new company and they haven't got things quite right, and...we switched Medicare supplemental insurance companies and THEY don't have things quite right..ugh!  Jan - hope the antibiotics kick in and you feel good for New Years!  Miranda - I hope you have a happy New Year's as well.

Happy New Year to all of the CruiseCrazies!!

  18. WE'RE BAAAACK!   And what a cruise it was!  This is one we would do again - same ports - same ship.

Miranda - I hope you like the Enchanted as much as we did - it is a beautiful ship with plenty of space.  It never felt crowded; were near capacity - not completely full, but full enough.  We always found a table in the buffet; we always found a deck chair where we wanted one.  DON'T MISS the production shows!!  I hope they are the same when you go:  Rock of Ages was really good, but...5 Skies was AMAZING!  I could see that again and again.  And Starlight Bar was really good as well - a neat concept.  They had a lounge dedicated to their house jazz trio and we were there every night.  Plenty of music and dancing in the atrium well into the night, too.  And the food was excellent, especially in the extra dining venues:  Salty Dog Gastropub was really good - with a small but interesting menu; and of course, Sabatini's and the Crown Grill were great as usual.  They have a Gigi's Pizza and it was really really good, especially if you like thin-crust pizza.  I loved the color scheme in our stateroom...very light colors...made it seem bright and airy.

The one big complaint I have is that there is a great infinity pool at the aft, and they have made that whole back area the smoking section.  So we really could never enjoy it.  And...the division between smoking/non-smoking in the casino is pretty worthless.  I wore my mask in there not just for Covid...but to keep out the smoke.

But otherwise - we were really happy with this ship.  the Princess Live area is huge in this one, and was constantly packed.  We liked the Crown Grill Bar and Crooners, and the small Bellini Bar makes great bellinis and other exotic drinks.

And we would do this itinerary again:  Princess Cays, San Juan, Tortola, Guadalupe, Martinique, St. Maarten.  Loved them all.  In San Juan we got to go to the Rain Forest, which was really cool, and then we came back to the Old City and ate good Puerto Rican food, lol.  Tortola was beautiful, and can be a jumping-off spot for some of the other BVI islands.  Guadalupe and Martinique had beautiful botanical gardens and fun craft markets at the port.  Those are both French islands, and...they only take Euros in the stores and restaurants (or visa.)  I knew this and took some we had left over from our t/a last year.  Interestingly, the craft markets took American dollars.

So now the rush begins for Christmas.  I had gotten almost all of the shopping done beforehand and had wrapped all the big gifts, so I only have a few stocking stuffers to finish up, and of course, all the baking and fudge-making!  We went to the store today for all the supplies since we are expected to get a huge storm for Thursday/Friday.  That's ok - I'll just stay in and bake to my heart's content, ha!

Jan - So nice to have the grandsons for the weekend!  We get to pick up Lucas from school on Thursday (if they don't cancel,) and keep him for the evening.

Ray - Are you packed yet?!  I have a friend who just got back from Patagonia, ,etc., and she is still on cloud 9 - loved every minute of Chile and Argentina, etc...

Well - better get another load in the washer...  Wishing everyone a great holiday season!!

  19. Happy Winter, Crazies!  What a whirlwind of a late fall/early holiday season it has been!  We had a wonderful cruise up the Pacific Coast on the Koningsdam.  We went in to San Diego a couple of days early and yes, of course, went back to the San Diego Zoo, lol!  Cannot pass up a chance to see koala bears, and it really is an exceptional zoo.  There have been a ton of awful reviews about the Koningsdam recently, but we did not experience it that way.  Some things were a bit disorganized...we went down for dinner on the first night and the line to the MDR snaked through half of the deck, so we turned around and went up to the buffet.  We then made sure we had reservations for the remaining nights and all went fine after that.  They have trimmed the menu and eliminated the classic "always there" offerings, but we always found something to our liking, and we thought the food was always very good.  The service could be a bit slower than "days of old", but nothing that made us miss shows, etc.  The entertainment was fabulous, from the main stage to BB King and Lincoln Center...we always had a place to enjoy the evening.  The only other "glitch" was disembarkation.  It was a true nightmare getting off the ship, but once done, the terminal was very calm and organized.  We are looking forward to 35 nights on the Koningsdam in 2024!

This cruise, and our one coming up on the Enchanted on 12/9 means I have to get Christmas done real quick so that I don't have packages being delivered while we are gone.  And I am just about done.  The tree and decorations are up, cards are written (but not mailed yet,) and I am about to start wrapping.  Whew!

Jan - Glad that you enjoyed Thanksgiving with your family, but I, too, have wondered what it would be like to be on a cruise for that holiday...maybe a cruise with the whole family, right?!  We had a nice day at Heidi's.  She catered in the turkey and a ham, with a bunch of sides: cornbread stuffing, mac & cheese, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole... And then we all brought cheesy potatoes, regular herb dressing, ambrosia salad, biscuits...and...chocolate, pumpkin and blueberry pies.  I am NOT stepping on the scale until January!

Miranda - Glad you have not had to deal with the white stuff!  We had it for one day but the temps climbed and quickly got rid of it.  As far as I am concerned, it can stay away until falling lightly on Christmas Eve, and then be gone by New Years, lol.  Your cruise lineup sounds wonderful!  I will be sure to report back on the Enchanted Princess!  Israel will be so interesting, and...congrats on your new booking on the Apex!  We were on her for the transatlantic from Barcelona to Ft. Lauderdale October 2021 and absolutely loved that ship (and the cruise!)  Your itinerary that included Oslo and Olden sounds so interesting,  but we want to go above the Arctic Circle when we go back to Norway.  Glad you have a couple of weeks off coming up!

Ray - HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have a great day today.  Do something fun...like go to Barnes and Noble, lol  (That is certainly fun to me!)

Jackie - hope you can enjoy these last weeks before the tax madness begins!

Well - better get back to Christmas preparations...and getting ready for our cruise!

WOW, what happened to Carnival??? We are very disappointed after our recent cruise.

The customer service has really gone downhill. They appeared to very short on staff and the food is just not the same. I also had an issue with onboard credit and it is impossible to speak to anyone after a cruise. They only offer email customer service and it took over 6 weeks to hear from them. Their “I care” didn’t care!!! We did enjoy the Cruise Director and Cabin Steward. The embarkation and debarkation was good but the rest was pretty dismal.

Be aware that Carnival Cruise line was the worst of my ten cruises, so sad.

I am very sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience. The reviews we are getting run the gamut from "fabulous" to "truly awful" and everything in-between.  So I take it this was not your first cruise on Carnival.  Have you tried other cruise lines?  I have not sailed with Carnival but do have 38 cruises with Royal, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, NCL...We have sailed three times since cruising opened up again and were fortunate to just have minor holdups and mishaps.  Did you happen to use a travel agent to book your cruise?  If so, they would most definitely take up the fight for you.
