My future husband and I have chosen Princess's Arctic Cruisetour (land portion first) for our honeymoon. This will be our first cruise and our first time in Alaska. We are VERY excited!!
We will start in Anchorage, 2 days in Denali, then on to Fairbanks, Coldfoot, and Prudhoe Bay. Then fly back to Anchorage to begin the cruise with stops in Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan.
I know there are other ways to do the Arctic tour besides through Princess, but after researching this is what we decided to do. We are aware of the modest accommodations and are very much looking forward to seeing the Arctic Ocean.
I have been through Princess's brochures and am very overwhelmed at the number of tour options. We are interested in awesome scenery and wildlife, not much into shopping. We love hiking and the outdoors, so trips of this nature are a plus. We definitely want to do some sort of flightseeing tour that lands on a glacier so you can walk around, just not sure which port to do that in.
Suggestions for excursions to choose (or NOT to choose) in Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan would be welcome.
Also anything recommended to do in Denali in addition to the Tundra Wilderness Tour?
We will be arriving a day early, so is there anything in Anchorage that absolutely shouldn't be missed?
I appreciate your help/suggestions. This will probably be a once in a lifetime opportunity and I really want to make the most of it!
