  1. All aboard! Looking forward to this cruise and enjoying a relaxing Thanksgiving at sea!
  2. Just returned from our Windstar Pride cruise from Montreal to Boston. First time sailing on Windstar and we loved it! The Pride had been "stretched" and added 50 feet and can now accommodate about 300 passengers. We had 252 on board and 200 crew. The ship is beautiful and our cabin was quite roomy with a large bed, seating area, bathroom with two sinks and a walk-in closet! (See photos) We started off in Montreal with the required Covid test pre-boarding which went fairly quickly and smoothly. All crew members wore masks throughout the cruise and it was optional for passengers so some wore them and some not. Our itinerary was interrupted by Hurricane Fiona so we missed a couple of the scheduled stops and had an extra day in Quebec City which was so charming and full of history so we didn't mind that at all. Another day the Captain sailed us up the Saguiney River which was beautiful and a glorious, sunny day so he made the best of it to avoid rough seas. Other stops included Halifax, Lunenburg, Bar Harbor, Portland and Boston. Back to the ship, there were several dining options including the Veranda for breakfast and lunch. Another lunch venue is the Star Grill for buffet options and the Yacht Club for small sandwiches, sweets and a coffee bar. Dinner in the main dining room is Amphora, served from 7:00-9:00 PM, arrive when you wish. Two other options for dinner which require reservations are Cuadro 44 which offers a Spanish menu (try the grilled octopus - yum!) and Candles which offers delicious steaks, lamb and seafood. At Cuadro we sat at the Chef's Table where we didn't even have to order, the Chef just kept sending us items to try and everything was gourmet and delicious. There is a lounge where the lectures and some of the entertainment was held, a large bar called Compass Rose with a dance floor where the band and duo played each night and another outdoor bar at the Star Grill. There is a small gym, steam room, sauna and four heated beds which are available for anyone to use. Typical spa offerings include massage, nail and hair styling, etc. There is a small outdoor pool and whirlpool but it was pretty cold most of the time and I only saw the whirlpool in use a couple of times. One of the cool things Windstar does is a "Sail Away" from each port where they raise the flag and play Vangelis "Conquest of Paradise" which is magical - gave us chills with our glass of champagne in hand and watching the ceremony! Can't say enough good things about the crew from the waitstaff and bartenders to our housekeeper, all the officers which were very visible and interactive throughout the cruise and to every person we encountered they were professional, friendly and so accommodating to everyone. The fellow passengers we met were also wonderful, we met a few that we will keep in touch with for sure. Since this is a smaller ship than the megas which can carry 2500-3000 people and more, boarding and exiting the ship and debarkation were a breeze. We never stood in line for long (hardly ever) even for tenders to the ports when needed. We are sold on Windstar and will definitely sail with them again - no more mega-ships for us!
