  1. Welcome back... I understand your pain... HUGS.... You will cruise again and soon!!!
  2. If I were on a very long transoceanic cruise.. the classes would be of interest, especially the culinary classes... The 'AzAmazingEvening' on Azamara sounds like something I would totally enjoy... I love music, theater, dance etc... and to experience something like that would be wonderful... I'm not one for a lot of 'swimming with the dolphin' experiences... or sitting on a beach and drinking all day (not that there is anything wrong with that either, just not my style)... To each his/her own... that's why there are so many different cruise lines with so many options... Cruise on my dear friends!!!
  3. LOL Debbie and/or Jerry... I had to laugh about the salt and pepper shakers because there are those who would have a melt down at guest services and demand a credit for half the cruise, I'm sure, if such a thing happened to them. One thing I've learned about cruising... It is what YOU make it... If you want to complain and be miserable, that is your option... Not everything is going to be perfect on any cruise and that includes one on Cunard, Crystal, Seabourn or any of the more expensive lines where you pay six figures for your cruise... Things happen... things happen in everyday life.. but there is no reason to have a melt-down about it... I think a wise person once said: "God grant me Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can change, Wisdom to know the difference." We need to remember this more and complain less... I have a slightly different version of the famous saying...(grins) please forgive me the adaptation... LOL... "Grant me Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can change, Wisdom to hide the bodies of those who piss me off." ... So with that said... me, my butter knife, salt and pepper shaker shall look on down the road to our next cruise on the Dream!!! Cruise on my fellow Cruise Crazies!!!
  4. There's plenty of room... Y'all book and go with us!!!
  5. Welcome aboard!!! I hope you enjoy Cruise Crazies as much as I do... It's a great place to learn about cruising and make new friends!!!

  7. So glad to know you are okay Dave... Carnival is a great cruise line... I've taken 7 cruises with them and my 8th is booked for May 2015... It's a shame the media focuses only on the bad and not on the good when it happens... Wishing you health and happiness!!!
  8. Welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy Cruise Crazies as much as I do... it's a great group and you will learn a lot from the best in the business!!!

  13. Sailing out of New Orleans to Key West, Freeport and Nassau on the Dream... Looking forward to cruise number 8!!!
  14. What can I say about the Carnival Sunshine? It was great!!! We had a wonderful 8-days aboard the refurbished Carnival Sunshine in Spa-level cabin 11007... One of the new cabins added to the 'Destiny' during it's make-over. I must say I enjoyed the amenities that came with the cabin and being on deck 11 just down the hall from the Serenity Deck pool was wonderful!!!. The cabin was tastefully decorated in blues and greens with taupe... and average in size for a Carnival ship... It was an inside cabin, as I have never found the need to spend the extra money for a balcony due to the fact that we are rarely in our cabin. We purchased the 'Faster to the Fun' program allowing us the privilige of checking in with the Platinum and Diamond level guest and receiving the same service from the dedicated telephone guest service number on board, to the dedicated guest service desk with no waiting, to the early debarkation with our zone being number 3... we were off the ship and in our car by 8:30 am Saturday morning... Very nice and well worth the $49.99. I was a bit concerned about our cruise on the Sunshine after reading several reviews on other sites about issues with the ship. I am glad to say that we experieced none of the problems about which I had read. The only glitch we encountered was one night at dinner we had no butter knife nor salt and pepper shakers on our table...and to me that was funny... it took all of two seconds for those items to appear after telling our wait staff about the missing items... and if that's the only complaint (if you want to call it that-- and I am NOT complaining) then I am more than happy. The ports we visited were bautiful and a first for us... St. Thomas, Grand Truk, Tortola and St. Maarten... There is so much to see and do on each island we can do this same cruise again and have plenty to keep us busy. If you are contemplating the Carnival Sunshine... go!!!! You will have a great time!!! I know we did...
  15. Thanks.. I am much better today... Okay on the ports.. I didn't know if you were doing the same itinerary as us or not... Been to Freeport several times... not a lot to do there... LOL Well not since they took the original International Bazarr Shopping Mall off the tour... (I don't even know if it still exist., but the one they have now down next to the marina is not like the one we went to on our first two cruises...) I can say that if we were to go to Freeport again, we would stay on the boat and go to the Serenity Deck.. LOL... Hope you have a lot of fun and I will be looking forward to hearing about the Sunshine... Safe and happy sailing to you!!!
  16. Hi Karen, we haven’t sailed yet. Next month – we can’t wait! This morning when I sent you the question I was in the hospital being treated for an upper respiratory and kidney infection... the customer care tech who was supposed to take my vital signs for the morning came in wearing very strong perfume. I am highly allergic to perfumes as it can instantly make me very sick with a migrane headache... it is noted on my chart that no perfumes are allowed in my room due to my allergies.... The moment she opened, I became violently ill, throwing up and the headache set in, I had a wash cloth on my table and covered my nose and mouth and has to ask her to leave immediately... The incident did not set me back and I did get to come home. So the part where you said you were cruising 'next month' just did not register with me...I appologize for not catching that you are leaving next month... Please let me know what you think about the Sunshine and any suggestion on things to see and do when in port will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks again and happy sailing...
  17. How was your cruise? What did you think of the Sunshine? Thanks!
  18. I was looking over the menus earlier today after John Heald published the links... Wow is all I can say... they looked fantastic... We had some of the dishes, such as the frog legs, on the Fascination in November... they were delicious!!! I do hope they go fleet wide with the menu before I sail on the Sunshine in May!!! As long as the never do away with the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake I will be fine... LOL....
  19. I like the $10 shop on Carnival.. I have purchased some beautiful evening purses for my daughter in law and myself... This last cruise I purchased some very nice jewelry at very discounted prices for Christmas presents this last cruise... so ... I'm always up for a bargain but do my homework as well... Somethings are not as much of a bargain as others...
  20. Love the new shows on Carnival... I have a friend who's son performs on Royal... they have a few new shows coming up so... I will have to reserve judgement on them until I see the new ones he post... The new format for having Broadway shows on Carnival seems to be working quite well from what I understand... I look for other lines to follow suite... I am also looking forward to the next cruise... LOL... hope he wants to book another before we get back from this one too!!!
  21. Congrats Shari2... Keep crusin' and postin' ....
  22. Sad if you ask me... Trust me if I paid $12,000 for a cruise they would be paying me back with interest... Maybe they couple should not have gone on the cruise, but that is not Celebrity's call... Their money was green and it was good enough to book the cruise... so... it should have been good enough to keep them on the cruise or at least get them better service back to their home port. Bad move on Celebrity's part, in my opinion...
  23. Can't wait until May... Cruising out of Port Canaveral on the Sunshine on an 8-day.... YIPPIE!!!!!
  24. Trust me, he didn't have to ask twice... LOL... I've made the booking and have our cabin secured...so... May hurry up and get here!!!!
