Ann - if you choose a later time you can just dawdle and people watch before you get off the ship - two of my favourite pastimes. I'm sure the shuttles must know the ins and outs of cruise pick ups - let them worry about it - just enjoy yourself! - that's an order - one Canuck to another eh!
