Jason
For those of you who don't live in South Florida and haven't heard about the big news story of the day, a seaplane with 20 people onboard exploded into fire and crashed into the water in Government Cut right next to the jetty and South Beach. 19 of the 20 bodies have been recovered, and 1 body is still unaccounted for. What a tragedy, my heart goes out to all of the families of these people. Because the plane crashed into the water at the entrance of the Port of Miami, the port was shut down, with no ships entering or leaving the port. As of 11PM Monday night, the three cruise ships that were set to depart late Monday afternoon are still docked in Miami, awaiting word on when they will be able to leave the port. These 3 ships are the Carnival Fascination, Carnival Imagination, and the Grandeur of the Seas. The NTSB is asking that anyone who witnessed the crash, or who took photographs or video, leave a message at the following telephone number: (305) 597-4613 ext.
TheSkipper
What a tragic event! I have watched those planes taking off and landing while aboard cruise ships waiting to depart the Port of Miami. In fact, if I did a little digging I could probably find some video of them in my cruise video collection. Keep us posted Jason.
