OK I am back from Nassau & Key West. The Mini Busses are still only $1. The Wyndham at Cable Beach was offering a Day Pass for $15/pp. Atlantis was offering a DIGS pass (Aquarium) available in the Casino at the Center Kiosk. ($29pp). You also could at get a room at the comfort suites $265 for 4 adults and have full Atlantis privileges cheaper than a day pass $150/pp.

I went to Nassau last year on vacation (stayed in Cable Beach) and did not feel unsafe in most areas. I went to the pirates of Nassau and it was fun, just don't eat at the bar at the pirates place - the food is awful.

The straw market is fun, as well as paradise island - I highly recommend that you go there!

There is also quite a bit of good shopping right near the docks. If you need to get around, the mini buses are great and only $1!!!

I am not sure what shore excursions there are (as I have never cruised there), but we went on the Robinson Crusoe "cruise" out to an island for lunch/snorkeling and it was a ton of fun! The beach was beautiful.

If you are going to a beach near nassau, the beaches on paradise island are definetly the best.

There is so much to do, I think you will have a great time whatever you choose!

Nassau is very safe - never felt unsafe anywhere. Some like the straw market, we found it very claustrophobic... but love paradise island, we just took a water taxi over. we've been there about 6 times, so now we basically stay onboard and enjoy the pool on the ship to ourselves whilst we are in Nassau. Don't be concerned at all, the only port of call that we felt a little uncertain was in Jamaica!
