Casinos on Alaska Cruises

Are the casinos on cruise ships open on Inside Passage cruises to Alaska? Or are the ships too close to shore?

When we did our Alaskan cruise a few years ago, the casino seemed to always be open. The was very liitle time on the cruise that we were actually out of site of land. I believe that this is one of the reasons that Alaska decided to tax the cruise lines on their casino revenues.

It has been a while since we were in Alaska, and we don't usually gamble, so I could be wrong. I'm just going on my memory, for what that's worth.

We don't gamble either, but I seem to remember the casinos were closed during the day when we were in port, but open at nights when we were cruising.

Yeah, they definitely were closed during the day when we were sitting still.

This was this past August and it was Royal Caribbean.

Yes the casino's are open whilst at sea, just the same as if the ship was cruising off the coast of Florida/California/Hawaii.

Far as I know.....Casinos like the shops on board only close when in port.........
