If you rent a car make sure when you park it is in a legal place. I heard of lots of problems in St Marteen.

Larry, we've always hired a taxi in St. Martin/St Marteen. We've outlined what we want to do in advance and then asked the driver what he would charge. We love Rhino Riding (think motorcycle in the ocean) and book through Shore Trips. Taxi driver took us to Simpson Bay, did his own thing for the time that we were out and about and was back waiting for us to take us to our next stop.

In St Lucia we went on the Catamarian. Again through Shore Tours.

Both are exactly what the ship offers at a much better rate.

Never been to Barbados so I can't help.
