Cruise Ships

Royal Carr Empress Of The Seas. I tend to lean towards the smaller ships. If I'm on a cruise I want to feel like I'm on a cruise, not a floating city.

Royal Clipper, of Star Clipper lines. 284 people, 4 masts, 32 sails, continental cuisine, international passenger mix. No casino and no entertainment other than a little dancing on deck around the bar at night. And some "motion of the ocean".

Our first cruise was on the Carnival Sensation. It was very glitzy, however it turned us into cruise crazies. We liked the style of the old Westerdam, although it did not ride well in high swells. The Veendam was our first cruise by ourselves and the size and layout of the ship and it's clones is our favorite.

Tough to say really. There are aspects about all of them I like. Overall the AOS I liked the best however. The Sapphire Princess is not too far behind as this is a beauty of a ship. Besy food was the Tahatian Princess, besy shows were on the Splendour of the Seas. :biggrin:

Really tough to single out one particular ship as each one that we have been on has it's own splendor, beauty and offering. (We have repeated ships and/or itineraries so obviously we must like something about them).

The SS Norway refurbished by Norwegian was elegant because it wasn't the modern, glitzy ship that we have come to travel on.

The Royal Caribbean that we were on had a magnificent stateroom.

The first time we were on Carnival Sensation, we loved the atrium, glitz and glitter. Again, Jerry will say Carnival because that was the first ship where he had incredible luck/skill in the casino.

Each of the Celebrity ships that we have sailed have been pristine. Then Jerry will say Celebrity Century because that was the ship where he won "big bucks" playing Caribbean Stud poker. We all agree that the food and service on any Celebrity line have been top notch.

Caribbean Princess was the first ship that we sailed on with adjoining balconies.

Norwegian out of Hawaii was the first ship that we sailed on with adjoining rooms.

I guess Jerry and I just find the good in each of the ships and hope they mitigate (or cancel out) the bad.

I'd have to say the Star Princess is my favorite. There were a great variety of shows, many restaurants and I liked the layout of the balcony staterooms - kind of a walk-in closet. But believe me I enjoy ANY ship I'm on :biggrin:
