It's a small world after all for Disney Cruise Line, which is expanding to Northern Europe for the first time.

The family-friendly line announced Monday that one of its two ships, the Disney Magic, will begin sailing to Northern Europe out of Dover, England in 2010.

Disney says the Magic will spend five months in Europe in all during 2010 with cruises both in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean (which it has visited before). The Magic will sail a total of four Northern Europe cruises between June and July 2010. The Magic's Mediterranean schedule will include 10- and 11-night cruises out of Barcelona both before and after the Northern European voyages.

The 12-night Northern Europe itinerary will include stops in top shelf Scandinavian ports such as Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm as well as Warnemunde, Germany, gateway to Berlin. The Magic also will overnight in St. Petersburg. The line's Mediterranean voyages will include stops in three new ports for the line: Tunis, in Northern Africa, the island nation of Malta, and Corsica, the island oasis off the southern coast of France known as the birthplace of Napoleon.

Disney also will offer four repositioning cruises that include stops in Europe including two 14-night transatlantic voyages, a seven-night cruise from Barcelona to Dover, England, and an eight-night cruise from Dover back to Barcelona.

Disney is known for high quality, if pricey, itineraries, and the new Europe voyages are no exception. Prices for the Northern Europe cruises start at $3,649 per person, based on double occupancy; the Mediterranean trips start at $2,529 per person.
