Celebrity Introduces Flexible Dining Options

Celebrity Cruises announced a new flexible dining program called Celebrity Select Dining. Under the program, guests can choose when they dine on a day by day basis. Guests will still be seated in the ship's main dining, order from the same dinner menu, and enjoy the same service as in the past onboard Celebrity Cruises, but with more flexibility.

Once a guests has chosen Celebrity Select Dining in their reservation, they can make their day by day reservations pre-cruise, reserve once onboard or simply come to the dining room whenever they would like to have dinner. Guests onboard Celebrity Equinox, beginning with the September 26, 2009 sailing, will be the first to experience Celebrity Select Dining onboard, with all other ships rolling out during the first quarter of 2010.

Celebrity Select Dining allows guests to plan their dinner around their daily activities. For example, guests will no longer have to rush to dinner after their relaxing spa treatment. If they want to spend some extra time sightseeing in one of the many ports of call, they will have the option to dine a little later that evening. Celebrity Select Dining is all about flexibility.

According to Celebrity, guests can choose to dine in the Main Dining room at any time between 6:00 and 9:30pm each evening, or can dine at a different time every evening if that's what they choose. In order to ensure the best possible dining experience, Celebrity strongly recommends that guests make their day by day dining reservations online before their cruise although Celebrity says that it will also accept reservations once onboard the ship.

Key Highlights of Celebrity Select Dining include:

• Same service as traditional seating

• Same menu as traditional seating

• Still seated in the Main Dining Room

• Pre-paid gratuities are required to participate — this includes tips for waiter, assistant waiter, dining room management, and all stateroom service.

• Guests have the choice to either dine with other guests or just with their own party

• Once Celebrity Select Dining is selected in the cruise booking, day by day reservations can be made pre-cruise online on celebritycruises.com

• Reservations are strongly encouraged in order to avoid a delay in seating, and can be made online pre-cruise up to 4 days prior to sailing, or onboard with the Maitre ‘d

• Only groups of 20 or less can be seated at one time

• Celebrity Select Dining is subject to availability

only problem being you may have to wait to get seated. but if it moves along like breakfast and lunch no worries.
