Carnival drink-casino question

Last September we sailed the Legend. They has a deal where if you bought a certain type of drink from a menu, you would get a $5 match play to use in the casino, when you took your receipt to the casino cage.

Do they still have that ??

Yes, I saw they still had that on our May cruise on the Pride.

I do not remember seeing that on the Magic in November. Carnival or Players INtl. has really changed up the Casino Operation. I think the russians have taken over. They no longer give perks, are rude, and act as though they are doing you a favor giving them your money. Prior to this cruise Players Intl had always been very generous with my wife who is a does in fact run a lot of $$ thru those machines. On the Magic this Russian guy (Manager) was downright nasty. It was not just us we talked to others and they too felt the same. I heard from friends they found the same attitude on another Carnival Ship, which tells me it is fleet wide. Carnival is really going downhill fast.

PS: I am in fact a snobby Platinum Crusier :)

We were on the Glory and the cruise hosts, Deno & Gina were so friendly and nice....the nicest we've come across!

I know the original question was asked almost a year ago, but they were giving the match play certificates with the purchase of select drinks aboard Carnival Paradise just last month.

It's actually a good way to get you into the casino, where you will undoubtedly spend alot more.

We were on the Splendor in March and saw some type of "drink gimmick" but we didn't partake. We'll be on the Freedom in a month, so I'll let you know.

If you purchase any of the Carnival Classic's in the bar menu, you get a $5 match play from the Casino. They still had this in July 2012 on the Dream.
