We're on that Danube cruise in a week.

Somebody said: "But aren't you traveling all night and stopped during the day?"

OOPS! Never thought of that. I was looking forward to watching the world go by.

So, here's my question:

Do these River Cruises travel only by night?

Many thanks for any responses.

There was definitely daylight cruising on every river cruise we’ve been on. For your itinerary you’ll probably be sailing through the Wachau valley during the day with narration by your cruise director. I seem to remember some cruising while it was light out every day and we’ve always gone in April or December – so you should have more hours of daylight too! Have a great cruise!

Whew!

Thanks for your reply. I feel better all ready.

I read a dozen "reviews" and they all said things like:

"This morning we arrived in Passau ..."

as though they had traveled all night.

Nobody even mentioned the passing scene as the boat sailed down the river.

Anyway, my diary will definitely mention the river's edge:

P.S.

I see y'all have a cruise comin' up on NCL Breakaway.

We're looking forward to a Breakaway cruise...we had to cancel this one:

Hi John & Jackie! I can’t think of any general advice right now, but we’re big fans of river cruising (we’re taking our 5th European river cruise this year!) and we’ll be happy to help answer questions as your planning progresses – feel free to contact us. Happy cruising!
