Wow! What a very witty, interesting and informative review - thanks so much for sharing! We haven't sailed on the Crown, but have sailed on her sister Emerald. They are beautiful ships. By the way, how did you get the honor of being selected as a "Story Teller"?

We canceled our mediterranean cruise on the new Royal Princess next summer 2012, in exchange for an Alaska cruise, but now I will be sad at what we will miss - especially Istanbul.

Definitely will be a must-see for 2014!

I always gain 6 pounds on a 4 day cruise. So, after reading your great review and all, being that you sailed a 12 day cruise, I can't even imagine how anyone could not put on a lot more than I do. I like the way you gave the pounds you added after all that food.

OOPS. Sorry, sunluva7, for the late response.

(I blame it on creeping senility.)

We never discovered the criteria for our being selected.

However, I suspect it was because we were such a handsome couple.

Well ... one of us, anyway.

Absolutely - and no doubt you have charming personalities to go with those handsome faces. Do you have any more cruises or travel booked? If so, tell us where you're going and what you're doing, and share your stories with us here. We need more reviewers like you!

A cruise to Canary Islands etc. in October, 2013 (preceded by a few days in Barcelona):

A cruise to Barbados in January, 2013:

... and (as a change of pace) in June, 2013:

Ain't retirement wunnerful?

P.S.

Did I mention "creeping senility"? Or, mebbe, faded mem'ry?

NOW I remember:

Everybuddy was asked to write why they should be picked to be a "story teller".

I mentioned the thing about 'handsome couple', but that was ignored.
Then I mentioned all them thar cruise diaries I done wrote

... and I reckon that did it. smiley4.gif

Just now seeing your review - fabulous! We sailed on the Crown in November 2011 and loved it. Sailed on her sister the Emerald last month and also loved it! We are planning a 2014 Med cruise so your review was very timely and helpful. Thank you!
